In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
Walking, waiting
Alone without a care
Hoping, and hating
Things that I can't bear
Did you think it's cool to walk right up
To take my life and fuck it up
Well did you?
Well did you?
I see hell in your eyes
Taken in by surprise (surprise)
Touching you makes me feel alive
Touching you makes me die inside
Walking, waiting
Alone without a care
Hoping and hating
Things that I can't bear
Did you think it's cool to walk right up
To take my life and fuck it up
Well did you?
I hate you!
I see hell in your eyes
Taken in by surprise
And touching you makes me feel alive
Touching you makes me die inside
I've slept so long without you
It's tearing me apart too
How'd it get this far
Playing games with this old heart
I've killed a million petty souls
But I couldn't kill you
I've slept so long without you
I see hell in your eyes
(Touching you makes me die inside)
Taken in by surprise
(Touching you makes me die inside)
Touching you makes me feel alive
(Touching you makes me die inside)
(Touching you makes me die inside)
(Touching you makes me die inside)
I see hell in your eyes
(Touching you makes me die inside)
Taken in by surprise
(Touching you makes me die inside)
Touching you makes me feel alive
(Touching you makes me die inside)
Touching you makes me die inside
(Touching you makes me die inside)
I see hell in your eyes
Alone without a care
Hoping, and hating
Things that I can't bear

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
Holiday
Bee Gees
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Magical
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
That it is vampd
THIS SONG IS SO AMAZING!!!
It's a really good song...I guess it's meaning is about another stupid chic screwing up a relationship, which the dude can't get over...eh.
This song is the best on the Queen of the Damned Soundtrack. I love it..."I see hell in your eyes"... the best lyric in the song.
I think its about a guy wanting to be with this girl so much, even though he hates her and feels likes she always plays games with his "old heart".
Is Jay Gorden "The Vampire LeStat"?
No that was Stuart Townsend. The song is about a guy being a vampire and wanting this girl so bad but she isn't a vampire so he bits her and they get together.
i want to know what makes you think this song is through the eyes of a vampire. yes, i know the song was in fact made for the soundtrack of a movie about vampires, but i really don't think it means this is first person narrative from the mouth of a vampire. moving on...
of course it's about some being lusting over some other being, and of course, how cliche, one can't have the other. there's emotions on many levels; love and hate. i just think the whole notion of the song has been done before. i've been an orgy fan since the release of candyass, and i believe this is the worst song jay has ever done.
it is from the mouth of the vampire, in the movie he's the rockstar, he writes these songs, it's about how he's feeling, and secrets of vampires. And you probably didn't like this Jay Gordon song cuz it's not a Jay Gordon song, Jonathan Davis wrote it, but he can't sing it due to his contract.
This song rocks!
