Landing On The Moutains Of Meggido Lyrics
Lords, can it be mistakes
Throughout the constant vows of the lost and gone, blind and wrong
Inside a faith without a home, a fire that is cold
But grows so well, who's to tell, about it all
A nation cannot see, the hardest part to take
Is not for me, the dying trees
This is what wars are made of
Haunted...
The readings cracked and grey and plagiarized to date
Altered by the bastards of pure disguise of seas and skies
The pagan drums should wake, the sleeping of the fools to forget the
church's language
Who's the fool, me or you
The greatest mask of fate, the longest battle through the text of great
predictions
For me and you, the old and new
This is what wars are made of
Haunted...

i like both Down and Pantera, i like Pantera better tho, but i have moments where one fits better than the other, Down is more for when you just wanna lay back and chill, Pantera is more for when you are mad and you wanna kill somebody (same with Superjoint Ritual), just my opinion
THE BEST DOWN SONG EVER!!!!! There is so much passion in this song. I love it. Down is the best band ever, much better than Pantera, even though pantera kicks ass. Phil singing is definately at its peak here, and his wifes Opal's voice fits the interludes so well!!! just amazing.
its pretty simple to see this song is about freedom of religion...phil basically says in one line "this is what i believe and u think im a fool, but who is the real fool, me or u?". i love down and pantera. phil anselmo is a songwriting god.
yes id would have to concur with you last statement JJ. Although Phil started as your medicore athor talking about simple things, sometimes even id say stupid, he sure did become WAY better. I think this fact has alot to do with heroin
I completely agree with bryankash. Down is really soothing, and Pantera and SJR are both worthy of some righteous headbanging. This song is really excellent.
Mount Megiddo is where the battle between good and evil is prophesised to begin in the book of revelations. The word Armageddon comes from this.
I did not know that, cheers e-mack.
i agree with bryankash. this song is unique though too. i mean, how many heavy metal bands would write a song with a zeppelin feel to it?
