This song reflects the horror of reality. When everything is travelling nicely a big spanner is thrown in. A cool song though
ditto to antmann. when everything seems to be so "perfect" and then the truth is revealed. where you get to that point when you can't play blind to it anymore. i can imagine myself saying these words to my ex..back then atleast. all you want to hear is that everyone else is lying and they love you so much. this song made me cry so many times
I think this whole song is about the break-up he refers to in the second half of the first verse. He starts off talking about childish illusions, then gets to the point, "How come you hang the phone up the minute I walk in?". The choruses sound personal as well, so I think he's reflecting that he always thought that he had a kind of immunity from receiving bad news that would really hurt him, but now realises he doesn't.
