This Romeo is bleeding but you can't see his blood
It's nothing but some feelings
That this old dog kicked up
It's been raining since you left me
Now I'm drowning in the flood
You see, I've always been a fighter
But without you, I give up

Now I can't sing a love song
Like the way it's meant to be
Well, I guess I'm not that good anymore
But baby, that's just me

Yeah, I will love you, baby
Always and I'll be there
Forever and a day, always

I'll be there 'til the stars don't shine
'Til the heavens burst and the words don't rhyme
I know when I die you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you, always

Now your pictures that you left behind
Are just memories of a different life
Some that made us laugh
Some that made us cry
One that made you have to say goodbye

What I'd give to run my fingers through your hair
Touch your lips, to hold you near
When you say your prayers, try to understand
I've made mistakes, I'm just a man

When he holds you close, when he pulls you near
When he says the words
You've been needing to hear, I'll wish I was him
'Cause those words are mine, to say to you
'Til the end of time

And I will love you, baby
Always and I'll be there
Forever and a day, always

If you told me to cry for you, I could
If you told me to die for you, I would
Take a look at my face
There's no price I won't pay
To say these words to you

Well, there ain't no luck in these loaded dice
But baby, if you give me just one more try
We can pack up our old dreams and our old lives
We'll find a place, where the sun still shines

Yeah, I will love you, baby
Always and I'll be there
Forever and a day, always

I'll be there 'til the stars don't shine
'Til the Heavens burst and the words don't rhyme
I know when I die you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you always
Always

okay. this is one of the best love songs ever. there's no doubt about it. the lyrics are sooo amazing.

lines like "this romeo is bleeding but you can't see his blood" "it's been raining since you left me now I'm drowning in the flood" "what I'd give to run my fingers through your hair to touch your lips, to hold you near" "when he holds you close, when he pulls you near when he says the words you've been needing to hear I'll wish I was him `cause those words are mine to say to you till the end of time"

those lines are amazing. and of course the chorus. jon and richie are one of the best song writing duos in the history of music.

and yeah. it is about a stalker. jon said it on the "This left feels right concert" but to me. it's a love song. and it's going to always be a love song. a classic. and the best love song ever.

yeah, it's a real love song. the only Bon Jovi song i like, though but i really do hate the video to this song. it just ruins it all, the guy treats the girl so badly and when the girl finally dumps him he goes: "oh why are you not with me. i'll be loving you forever baby" anyone agrees that the video sucks?

I agree with you on the video. The Song is about a mistake that ended a relationship, but i'm not sure it's that kind of mistake (cheating), more of a no-commitment-for-the-time-being.

It seemed that in 94' when this was released that the days of the big, bombastic, 80's power ballad were over. But than this badboy came out and just destroyed them all. This song is a power ballad, but it is also an amazing love song, and beautiful piece of music. This song will never get old. It is amazing.

Lol, in addition to my last message, I want to say this. It was getting late, you see, and I didn't exactly know what I was saying :) The last sentence. I mean: you'll know the difference between a lovesong and a dangerous song.

omg, guy above ma post!!! lol, why would you tell people that? you could just have ruined that song for me! ahh well, it remains a love song for me, and a touching one at that. The video certainly doesnt suggest its about a stalker, maybe thts just what it reminds bon jovi of.

I really dont care whether the song is about a stalker or not...thats not the way i took it when i first heard it, and that impression is going to stay with me. I love this song, I loved if from the moment I heard it years ago...and i have alot of good (and not so good) memories associated with it. It's a great song, one of my very favorites, and it always will be.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
