Well I fought for you
I fought too hard
To do it all again babe,
It's gone too far

You never needed me
You only wanted me around
It gets me down

There's been a change,
Yeah there's been a change of heart
Said there's been a change
You push just a little too far
You make it just a little to hard
There's been a change of heart

I'll get over you
It won't take long
I've stood in yer gallery
Seen what's hangin' from the wall

You were the moon and sun,
Yer just a loaded gun now
It gets me down

There's been a change,
Yeah there's been a change of heart
Said there's been a change
You push just a little too far
You make it just a little to hard
There's been a change of heart

Whoa yeah, oh boy
Looks like we finally found the turning point
Oh me, oh my
Looks like it's time for me to kiss it goodbye, yeah kiss it goodbye

There's been a change,
Yeah there's been a change of heart
Said there's been a change
You push just a little too far
You make it just a little to hard
There's been a change of heart

"I'll get over you, it won't take long" love that line. whether you think it's true or not you just have to start out by telling yourself (and her) that you can and will move on.

I think the lyrics are pretty straightforward. An awesome song too. Basically he was with a girl, he did all he could for her. He was not appreciated, taken for granted, and something big happened possibly he was cheated on. He decided he can no longer love her, and that he needs to move on.

    I don't understand the lyric:

"You're just a loaded gun now"

I understand the preceding line, but what does the loaded gun reference mean. I've never referred to a woman as a loaded gun before. Does it mean when she sees him again, she is going to want to kill him? IDK?

"I'll get over you, it won't take long"

One of the best lines in the song. It's what you need to do when women do you wrong. The great thing, is when the right woman comes around, and you fall in love with her. Then the one you want to get over, you can. You then realize how messed up things were, and how they are better now. That's what I am looking forward to.

"you were the moon and sun your just a loaded gun now"

This means that the moon and sun is something you cant get away from, and thats the way he felt with his girl, but now shes a loaded gun, and he wants nothing to do with something that will hurt him.

Kinda gotta dig for the meaning of that part of the song.

I LOVE TOM PETTY! im 13 years old but hes my favorite. he freakin rocks!!

"The moon and sun," is from a famous love poem by EE Cummings - where he says, "You are my sun, my moon, and all my stars." Basically another way of saying the person was the world to him. So to me, Petty is saying that he used to adore & worship the woman, but now that he\'s had the change of heart, she has become now like a loaded gun - no longer someone to be worshipped but someone to be avoided and in a way, feared.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
