Locked into the moment, things get so intense
No chance to take a second, see what you're up against
It was a simple plan, but not what you expected
You took a wrong turn and lost all perspective

You're unaware of what went wrong

Hey hey, the clock's still ticking
Do what you do cause you're thinking of yourself
Hey, hey the clock's still ticking
Do what you do but you'll soon run out of time

What did you do it for? Your wife or family?
A bright shiny car, all of which you never see
And if you had the strength, would you make a change?

It's still not too late, but time is slipping away

Hey hey, the clock's still ticking
Do what you do cause you're thinking of yourself
Hey, hey the clock's still ticking
Do what you do but you'll soon run out of time

I love this chorus... I'm surprised no one has commented yet. I think the meaning of the song is pretty much self explanatory...

"Locked into the moment, things get so intense No chance to take a second, see what you’re up against It was a simple plan, but not what you expected You took a wrong turn and lost all perspective" That's like in a big crime or something, you don't pay attention to your surroundsings. "What did you do it for? Your wife or family? A bright shiny car, all of which you never see And if you had the strength, would you make a change?" Asking why you did it, and if it was worth it.
