Good interpretation, I agree. Things were pretty dismal for me back when I wrote my first comment, but now things are pretty good. I have a wonderful boyfriend who really helped me through some recent family tragedy and just having someone to talk to and be there for me was so beneficial. Basically he could empathize with me, so having his support was so meaningful. |

I felt really lonely and empty at times back then and I do now too... but anyway I think what has been said already pretty much nails it. Lonely, depressed girl who thinks nothing ever works out. |

This song is a little sad and a good closer to Seven More Minutes. It being the last Rentals song, period, is fitting. Matt went on to "grow up" in a way and made a solo album that is very sparse and acoustic. He realizes he's not a 23 year old anymore and just wants to settle down with the right person |

Actually, P is Paulina Porizkova, Ric Ocasek's model wife. Ric produced weezer's first album (the Blue Album, and later went on to produce the Green Album as well) Of course Matt Sharp was in weezer then and so he wrote a little ditty as a tribute to Paulina. |

Oh for God's sake people, it's NOT that bad, and definitely NOT the worst. Ever hear Love Explosion? No wonder Rivers called his fans 'little bitches.' A lot of them are! I actually like this song... it has grown on me. And I've been a weezer fan since 1994, and the song is decent, though definitely not Blue or Pinkerton quality. It's just the commercially acceptable single that Geffen made them put on the cd. The rest of the cd is supposed to be different, and I'm hoping it's really good. This song is just very tongue-in-cheek. |

Overlee is a pool in the Arlington, VA area, where Matt is from. Hence the swimming around parts of the song. He lived in Spain for a while and had a girlfriend there, which is what most of Seven More Minutes has to do with. He basically wants to show her where he's from, because there's a certain comfort there. By the way, Matt Sharp loves swimming, he told me himself :) |

Frank Black was in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a while and that experience surfaced in a lot of his songs. This song is definitely about Puerto Rico. In fact, I was in San Juan last week, and was amused to see that on all the license plates was "Isla del encanto" I was like, hey! That's a Pixies song! And my friends had no idea of course. But a lot of Surfer Rosa comes from Frank's time in PR, as well in other songs. Crackity Jones is about his roommate. |

Catchy song, and I really like Gwen and No Doubt... she ripped off weezer's "Hashpipe" though... listen to it and you'll know what I mean. No Doubt toured with weezer back in 97 and Gwen did some favor for Rivers (weezer's frontman) and so she ripped off Hashpipe to settle that old debt because she thought Hashpipe was catchy.
