| Nine Inch Nails – Heresy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I shit on Christianity. I"ve read the Bible and I quote all the sadistic horrible things that Jesus and God have done and said. I love this song and it is right now. If there is a hell, I'll see all the good, bad, and christian people there too. |

| Q Lazzarus – Goodbye Horses Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Freaking amazing. I love the meaning. Garvey you rock! I loved it in Clerks II. That was the first time I heard it. I have yet to see Silence of the lambs now. |

| System of a Down – Spiders Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think it's like about spying. Like in 1984 when you can't do anything without being spied on. | |
| System of a Down – A.D.D. Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
In addition to what wnxsniper saidI want to add that the war in Iraq does not always result in coming home in body parts or "never coming home". However when soldiers do return home they're fucked up in the head a lot of the time, and they're lucky if they still have all their limbs and parts of their face. It's showing how the USA sent soldiers into Iraq with so much patriotic pride and they come home realizing how Bush lied and the government does give a shit about them. They feel expendable and this song is about their indignation saying that if the government leaders dont care about us, then fuck them bc we dont care about their greedy ambitions and bullshit. |
|
| System of a Down – Boom! Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Bush is truly a good christian who's got his priorities straight. He'll definetly be going to a high place in heaven for his virtious life. I mean no one starves to death or dies from lack of health insurance in AMERICA. AMERICA IS THE BEST. All other cultures are inferior and expendable. Now go BUY some more music or BUY some new crap. | |
| System of a Down – Jet Pilot Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think it's about jet pilots detachment from the carnage their bombs create when they drop bombs. "Wired were the eyes" shows how being in a jet so high above looking through computer screens you see the mission as like a video game; very digital. | |
| System of a Down – ATWA Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This is about TV to me: "Hey you, see me, pictures crazy, All the world I've seen before me passing by, I've got, nothing, to gain, to lose, All the world I've seen before me passing by," The crazy pictures could be the violence in the news and the propaganda. It's about how the world can pass before you when you watch tv. Not only do you become detached to reality but you become brainwashed by the media to view the world a certain way. "You don't care about how I feel, I don't feel it anymore" TV makes you feel more numb and less alive. |
|
| System of a Down – Mr. Jack Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It's about the popos? police brutality maybe? | |
| System of a Down – Nuguns Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Nuguns = new guns I can see how this song is about the military and government corruption using prostitution metaphors. |
|
| System of a Down – Highway Song Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think it's about getting really high and then reminising aobut the past. It's about moving further from the days of childhood innocense. What kmk natasha says about the fans is also a very intersting interpretation. | |
| System of a Down – Soldier Side Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
After war you're never the same when you come back. Many that don't die have missing limbs. Many get psychological disorders. And many tragically dont get the promise of respect and like college money that they were promised. Many come home seeing their wives with different men, men that they fought to protect. Many come home to children that have grown up without them. Savior part = theres no one there to save teh soldiers that go to war and die. they thnk no one is coming to save them bc they are sinners for killing others or deserve suffering. crying when their sons left = the reason parents cry is that even if he returns, little Johnny will never be the same. War fucks up people more than u know. God is wearing black = God is at their funeral watching. so the "never coming home" = never going to be the same after war. so many soldiers can totally relate to this in Vietnam and Iraq. "there is no one hear but me" = most poeple dont give a shit that these "PEOPLE" fought and died for our the freedoms we take for granted. people all grow up to die = people take their lives for granted when people who go to war understand what life is worth. |

| System of a Down – U-Fig Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think it's about the alliance between the ultra rich and the incredibly poor in this country on the right-wing side. The very poor are so stupid and wave american flags with "blind patriotism" as taurendil said. They are too dumb to see that the ultra rich aren't patriotic but just hold american flags to appear in public as good figures when in reality their only goals are their self-interests in greed. |

| System of a Down – Tentative Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"'Superstition taking all of us for a ride Mimes overtaken by the signs of the Right The bombs are falling overhead with no sight While you are talking all detached, detached, detached, detached, detached" I think the "superstition" and "the right" is our current adminstration that has "good morals" and how they tricked us into allowing them to drop bombs on other people(Iraq). We never ever had any bombs dropped on us so we are detached and completely unfamiliar with what bombing a country really means. Heck we still use cluster bombs. The closest thing we had to a bombing was 9-11 and we panicked incredibly with such suprise. When to people in Iraq and in bombed countries they understand really what bombing is. We only had a tiny taste of what it is from 9-11. Makes us look like a bunch of pansies when we panicked. Over 100,000 Iraqis are dead since we invaded. We are so not used to War that we are completely detached to what it actualyl means when our government decides to declare war and "bomb" another country. Also because we use jets to drop bombs the pilots have no idea waht kind of carnage they create. To them it's just video game really. They don't see the kids with missing limbs and shrapnel stuck in their faces. They don't see the pregnant women giving birth to dead children because fell down when the bombs hit. Our fucking media helps detach us even more from what bombing is by saying "we use smart bombs". I'm just giong to say that the massacred people labeled as "collateral damage" sure didn't blow themselves up. "Ceremonies have killed religions for they provide The masked comforts to delusionals, they're all in fright The true believer's head was bathed in sunlight While you are walking all detached, so tell us" I think he's sayign that our religion in this country has become so dillusional and gives us "masked comforts". It's a crock when you see these supposed "good christian" and "morally sound" corporate leaders and politicians praying. It's saying that we drop bombs on the true believers. The ones that trully believe that God or Allah etc are the ones that realize they aren't going to be saved by their god as the "morally right conservatives" rain firey death from above on them. Also the "Where do you expect us to go when the bombs fall?" is such powerful anti-war lyrics. |

| System of a Down – Stealing Society Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
what i got out of this was: liberalism vs neo-conservatives the liberal political strength is abating (being reduced) and are thus are being diminished. the dominant neo cons are just abiding by their rules and being taken down by it. the attitude of drugies is that they jsut care about getting high and dont care about how society is all going to hell. |
|
| System of a Down – Dreaming Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i agree with all your posts about our selfishness and apathy for the poor. the dreaming of screaming part i believe is like what kmk said about how he's having trouble coping with knowing that mankind is so uncaring. ooarakhhye's post about how we do try to purify ourselves by removng all the unwanted parts of society like poverty and leaching off other countries. gonzo ur right on about the digitalization of america. with each new technology we become more and more useless as human beings. | |
| System of a Down – Attack Lyrics | 20 years ago |

gonzo i think darron is good. SOAD is all about creating variety in their music and sound, and adding a second vocalist is awesome. but yeah this song reminds me a lot of what BYOB is about |
|
| System of a Down – Psycho Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song has the best solo at the end I have ever heard. So melodic and smoothe. The guitar sounds like a violin and it's beauitful. | |
| System of a Down – Holy Mountains Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I can see how it relates to the Armenian Genocide but I do not understand how it would relate to president Bush. the lines "Freedom Freedom Free Free" are some of the most beautifully sung lyrics I have ever heard. They completely redefine the word freedom for me. |
|
| Nine Inch Nails – Right Where It Belongs Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I feel it's about the world being just a dream created by your head. And it's asking, "what if you could see the truth through the cracks?", would you be too afraid to take a peak. Too afraid that the world you know is a lie. The cage reference I imagine some guy looking at someone lower than them, and thinking they are superior and free, when in reality they are just prisoner to a greater power. This is the song I'll be llistening to when I blow my brains out the day before graduation this year... |
|
| Marilyn Manson – Posthuman Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"God is dead" - Nietzsche; "Nietzsche is dead" - God "Some are born posthumously!" - Nietzsche Posthuman = born after the death of God and b/c we are made from "god's image" than we become post-human once he is dead, which he is. Nine Inch Nails - "Heresy" is also a good song. |

I believe what doombunneh said about how he's mocking the goth's rebellion bullshit. "This is the new shit" is another song similar to this. |

| Marilyn Manson – Disassociative Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
It's about the drugs, but it nevertheless can also be just as well applied to other meanings. To me it's about how **** up we are. About how our world when seen from space is grey and ugly. The astronaut reference could be how he's so isolated and yet so connected to the world. The world is ugly and mean, so he wants to escape it by going to space, but when he does he sees how bad it is even more. And also b/c he's in space he has no where to go but stick around earth. It's like a broken home. You try to isolate yourself from it like an astronaut to earth, but you're still stuck with it and "can never get out of here". There's no where to go. Awesome song |

| Marilyn Manson – Great Big White World Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| the great big "white" part of this world is that everything and everyone is/are the same, but now b/c we are all the same we no longer love each other. b/c everone is the same to us now and we hate ourselves, then that means taht we hate other people for being just like us as well. people instead of looking to each other for love and help they seak God but he doesn't give a shit about us so the world just decays. | |

| Marilyn Manson – The Love Song Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The kids weren't assholes, for god sake's it wasn't their fault they were born into that shit. You put the responsibility on them, it's the parents fault. The parents raised nobodies who wanted to be somebodies, so they decided that when they die, people would finally know who they are. take a listen to "the nobodies" | |

I'm a nobody. I try to so hard to make friends but I'm constantly just stuck with other depressing losers like myself, and even around them I'm not accepted because I don't want to accept loserness. My little brother is my fragile. I'm working hard as hell to make sure he doesn't make the same mistakes that I made. I'm a loser now and I can't stand it. I work so hard to make sure he has a great non-depressing life. but often he sees me as bossing him around even though I do waht I do for his own good. |

| Nine Inch Nails – The Wretched Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I always imagine this song live. I imagine that NIN plays awesomely until that one part where it sounds like the song ends. All the nights on stage would turn off, and then they'd blow up brighter than ever and trent would slide on his knees playing that killer comeback riffs to finish the song off. hehe |
