I think this song is about mob mentality. People join rallys just to "belong" and be a part of something. Not all people of course, but many. Not just protests or anything like that but societal pressure to conform in general. The song is meant to make people realise that they have their own mind and dont have to conform to their group of friends, class, co-workers, protestors, etc. Basically: STOP AND THINK WHAT YPU ARE CONFORMING TO!

although i dont reallly know what the rest of this song means i think that "Hide in the Sky" has to do with religion. I think that this is about politicians using religion to justify their causes

Contrary to what some are suggesting, I think they're saying many of the supposedly enlightened protesters are just as bad as the people they're protesting.

One portion insults people on the basis of them being patriotic, and hicks, and suggests beating them and eating them. This is the mentality of some of those protesting, who don't see the ironic hypocrisy in protesting against war while simultaneously stating those who disagree with them are ignorant and should be put to death.

"Hide in the sky" may mean your head's in the clouds, and you're hiding from reality in this fantasy of accomplishing something by screaming in the streets, hence "come join the cause".

"Realize you're blind" is an outright condemnation of that hypocritical, ignorant mentality, the childish petulance of those who think they're accomplishing something by holding signs on the streets, while people are working hard every day to keep the world running, and dying by the thousands for stupid reasons. That proposing the wholesale slaughter of one group is no better than what they're doing. Exchanging one war for another, less organized, more pointless one is not progress.

Did anyone else notice this was composed by Shavo? It just sounds like his style..

Its " melt in the sun" as in "who wants to come with me and melt in the sun."

and finally, at the end its "It'll it show your mind that you 'have' a mind "

Aside from that its a pretty good post. Song is probably paradying a politcial campaign, so to speak. It's advertising for people: "Come join the cause!" And its trying to pass off the other parties as "pathetic" and that their party will (with your help) beat em and humiliate em. They are also trying to say that they are better as in they are hiding in the sky.

Right, I know for a fact what I'm about to say isn't what the song was written about (because I saw it ages after Hypnotize was out) But I saw this Afternoon Play on TV (go me!) About this mother and her best friend and her son with Aspergers. The mother and her best friend cleaning up the mess chavs had left everywhere where they lived and then (randomly but whatever) The Queen went over and everyone put in their best efforts to clean up. Only when a member of authority came did anyone actually give a shit. To see all those pathetic fake uncaring people waving those flags just reminded me of this song. : )
