| The Fray – Run For Your Life Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| This song is obviously about losing a sibling and dealing with the depression that hits after the fact. | |
| Fair to Midland – The Greener Grass Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Such a great epic closing track to a fantastic album. One of the best, if not the best, on the new album. Well done, Fair to Midland. | |
| Coldplay – Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
The fifth album is supposedly about American graffiti and the White Rose of 1942-43. Seeing the artwork for "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall", I'm guessing this song is with the story of American graffiti. I'm not very educated on the differences between each countries graffiti history, but I believe this might just be about liberating yourself, having yourself be heard. It might intertwine both the White Rose movement, and the American graffiti stories into one song, maybe have some hints of rebellion against a dictatorship during a time of war. |

| Tool – Stinkfist Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| That was retarded. | |
| Linkin Park – Iridescent Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| You know, I always wondered if this was about 9/11. Actually, I'm starting to wonder if this entire album is inspired by the war in Iraq. | |
| Linkin Park – Robot Boy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I felt like this was about a boy who is about to be drafted into whatever war has started. | |
| Linkin Park – Waiting For The End Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| These songs are all up for interpretation, so please, don't try to make it sound like others are wrong. If anyone was to be wrong, it would probably be the people who think it's about Linkin Park "moving on cause they know the fire has gone out". I think observing this album shows that it is a little more about a post-apocalyptic world. From the name of the album, to the albums intros, it sets a tone for the album. Like I said, it's all interpretation, but the people saying it's about a soldier, well, I would say they are a little closer to understanding the meaning. | |
| Linkin Park – Waiting For The End Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| ...or more like, the soldier is talking about his old life before he went to war. I think that is a little more fitting. | |
| Linkin Park – The Messenger Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I don't know if most look at this album as being a story, but I like to look at it that way. I kind of look at this as a soldier sending a message home to the soldier's wife/girlfriend, maybe he died, or maybe he is just telling his wife/girlfriend to be strong. That's just my look at this, it could mean anything, and I could be way off. | |
| Linkin Park – Waiting For The End Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I actually think this song is more about a soldier returning home from war. Though, Linkin Park says this album is open to interpretation. I think the album flows better if you think of the album like it is telling a story. | |
| Red Goodbye – Shakespeare Lied Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure they are speaking of "Romeo and Juliet" in this song when it comes to the Shakespeare Lied part. | |
| SafetySuit – What If Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| There are different forms of laughter. | |
| Alice in Chains – Last of My Kind Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Does the chorus remind anyone else of Rob Zombies "Dragula"? Either way, great song. |
|
| The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Godspeed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| What are "laughable" about these lyrics? Next time you have something to say, go into detail instead of whining like a child. Okay kiddo? | |
| Third Eye Blind – Red Star Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It's so funny how much of a failure this guys post was. | |
| Fuel – Down Inside Of You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Uhh, it's not about religion either. Sorry to disappoint you. | |
| Fuel – Falls on Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| *The light you bring | |
| Red – Pieces Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Well, TheOXIDE....they are a christian rock band. | |
| SafetySuit – What If Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
It's clearly about cheating. "What if it makes you lose faith in me? What if it makes you question every moment you cannot see?" Those two lines sum up the meaning for me. |
|
| SafetySuit – Down Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Actually, I believe this song is about a guy who thought for a while after a break up that he was the problem, but after thinking things through he realized she was the problem. He's moving on because he knows there is nothing wrong with him, and there is nothing he needs to work on with himself. | |
| SafetySuit – Annie Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| oieur84ruie, I hope you die a horrible death....seriously. | |
| Third Eye Blind – Red Star Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Well, reading Third Eye Blinds translation of this song, it's actually about a futuristic America that has gone to the shit hole. | |
| Third Eye Blind – Red Star Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure this is based back when America was paranoid about the communists in America. I believe the girl was arrested and sold out her friends, and they closed down their operation and they have to meet secretly but she isn't part of it anymore. | |
| Our Lady Peace – Somewhere Out There Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| If you can't appreciate evolution of a band, then you are not a "true fan" so stop calling yourself that. | |
| Go Radio – You Hold Your Breath, I'll Hold My Liquor Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Such a good song. | |
| Default – All Over Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Incredible song that should have been a hit. | |
| Fair to Midland – The Wife, the Kids, and the White Picket Fence Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Actually seemed like you were being a douche. | |
| The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Atrophy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The "9 to 5" part has nothing to do with taking medicine, it's about working a dead end job. It's about someone who stopped pursuing their dreams and is depressed, worn out, and is talked about in the second verse. The "Is a reminder of the time you bled" is not about cutting yourself and watching blood pour from your body, it is someone telling that person to remember the days when he/she believed in their goals, and did everything they could to accomplish them. | |
| Finger Eleven – I'll Keep Your Memory Vague Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think this song has two different parts in it, one part is the guy/girl dealing with a death of a friend/lover, and another part of the song is the guy/girl saying how everything is fine and that he/she should move on with his/her life. | |
| Mudvayne – Do What You Do Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| You're wrong, sorry. | |
| Thousand Foot Krutch – Wish You Well Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
All because this band makes christian rock music, does not mean that in this song, they are trying to tell someone "the only way you can find yourself, is if you believe in God". In my opinion, that would be a bit insulting. Honestly, I feel this song is about change. How they changed, I do not know. Maybe they used to be a kind human being, and now they are caught up in drugs or now they are just bitter and lost, and the band is wishing them well in life and hoping for the best as they try to get their life back on track. |
|
| Thousand Foot Krutch – Look Away Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| If you listened to the lyrics, you would notice that this isn't another "emo" song. It has a positive message, about people looking away from there's and others problems, but deciding to change that and facing their problems through faith. | |
| Limp Bizkit – Behind Blue Eyes (The Who cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |

OMG!!!SOMEONE COVERED A SONG THAT I LOVE, SO I'M GONNA GO ON THE INTERNET AND BITCH ABOUT IT.....LIKE OMG. Grow up people. |
|
| Breaking Benjamin – Forever Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This song is obviously talking about death The lines "Do you know I could never leave you And you know i could never beat you In a fight, i can never fight you Never mind, I will not forget you" He is talking about how he can not escape death no matter what he does. He is pleading, begging death to stay alive. If anyone knows the story behind Ben Burnley, he has many phobias, and I'm sure dying is one of them. I'm sorry, but this song IS NOT A LOVE SONG!!!! I can not express how much i hate when people call every song they hear a love song. I'm all up for open interpretation, but this song is clearly straight forward if you listen to the lyrics close enough. |
|
| Godsmack – Cryin' Like a Bitch Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song isn't necessarily about "Crue Fest" but Sully did say it came as an inspiration. By the way, this isn't calling Nikki Sixx out for his story about heroin, and I'm sure Sully respects his choice to quit drugs. What Sully was inspired by was how all of Motley Crue treated him and every other band on the tour, and acted as if they were still in the late 80s and were still the biggest band around. This song is more like a wake up call to all those people who believe they are kings and queens, but this song was made to put those people in their place. | |
| Go Radio – Goodnight Moon Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
You forgot the line "Just feel her lips, lock onto every breath I take and breathe it in" right before the line "Do you feel us falling? Cause I feel us falling". Other than that, the lyrics look good. Such an amazing song. |
|
| Creed – Away In Silence Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Seems very much like he is apologizing to the other band members, and telling them he has changed. Very personal song for Stapp and the rest of the band. Also I believe it is "Look at horizons and let the light bring you home". |
|
| Rise Against – Audience Of One Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Are people really calling this a pop song? My God, people really need to learn genres. That's just absolutely pathetic to call it a pop song. |
|
| A Day to Remember – Have Faith in Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| You're an idiot, go die in your hole. | |
| A Day to Remember – Have Faith in Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Except they didn't write this one, Jason Lancaster did. Probably why it turned out so great. | |
| Fuel – Falls on Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This song is actually about a bittersweet relationship. The guy loves being in the relationship with the girl, but at the same time can't handle the pressure that comes with it. Just look at the chorus, "All of your weight, All you dream, falls on me, and your beautiful sky, all you breathe, falls on me". All of her perfection, her goals for them both is getting to him. I'm sorry, but the song is not about religion. I understand some songs are open to interpretation, but some are straight forward songs. This song is obviously about confusion within a relationship. Read some info on Carl Bell, the writer of this song, and you'll get a better idea of what this song is about. |
|
| Hurt – Pills Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure this song is just about how people take pills for everything now days, and how it's such a normality in this world today. | |
| Shamans Harvest – Dragonfly Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The lyrics are actually... Maybe the sky's falling out around the babies Maybe the world is gonna spin out of control I don't care anymore What if I quit today working for the man? Who said I had another, well, maybe I can? It's all gonna end anyway Tell me doctor, what's the cure for the wicked mans blues? Fly Dragonfly Fly Dragonfly When the sky falls to the sea I won't mind, the cause is me When the wind blows through the trees I wanna ride the Dragonfly Fly Dragonfly Fly Dragonfly When I come, get me a piece Take my advice, just let me be When the moon turns black as night Bathed in the fires of Dragonfly Fly Dragonfly Don't take so long I been here before you Now, I see you in my minds eye Fly Dragonfly Fly Dragonfly Fly Dragonfly Straight from the booklet. They also have the lyrics in a blog on Myspace. |
|
| Shamans Harvest – Dragonfly Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The first verse tells everything. He obviously feels stuck with his life, and he wants freedom. Maybe wants to pursue his dreams again? Just wants to forget everything and hit the road. That's all I think this song is about, gaining his independence/freedom back. The whole "Fly dragonfly" is himself telling himself to just get out of whatever it is he is stuck in. | |
| Third Eye Blind – Why Can't You Be Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I've always thought of this song as being sarcastic about arguments. How pointless and retarded some can be. The back and forth of it, saying nonsense. Not that people say the things that are written in this song, unless you are a really random person. | |
| Mayday Parade – Champagne's for Celebrating (I'll Have a Martini) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"She left her books, her car, her clothes, and a note But all she wrote was, "Tonight I'm leaving on a train." She says she's headed west To make it right for one more night And, well, I don't blame her if she is" Clearly, about the guy reading the note. "But he thinks it's just one more sunset And after all, it's her fault If she hasn't caught on yet" This could be interpreted in two ways. He's talking about himself, and how he believes once she is there she will be right back. Or it could mean the girl is going back to an ex-boyfriend, and the guy will have fun with her for a while, and then will throw her away once again. "Try as I might I just can't handle this I lost myself inside a drunken kiss And I, all that I wanted was to walk you home Save a sad song for the sing-along Oh my God, I just can't handle this I lost myself inside a drunken kiss And I, all that I wanted was to walk you home Save a sad song for the sing-along" The most important part in this verse is the mention of the drunken kiss. Which can make the next verse be interpreted into two ways. "And she sings, "You'll be my tourniquet," As the record on my stereo plays Her favorite song for two whole days And the track stretched out for miles and miles And what she'd give for one more smile And how she hoped he missed her 'Cause, God, she missed how he would kiss her" One interpretation of this verse is, at the same exact time, both of them are missing each other at the same time. He's listening to her favorite song thinking about her, and she is thinking about the "drunken kiss" they had with each other. Or it could just be the guy is missing the girl, and the girl is thinking about the guy she is going back to in the west. All of this is up to the listener, I personally feel from the lines of the chorus is that the song is about the girl running back to some scumbag guy, and he will have a one night stand with her and that will be that. Through her mistake though, the guy back home is also through with her. He may have been by her side, secretly in love with her, and gave her the best advice he could but ultimately failed. So he is moving on. Hence the line "You're walking down a road that I can't go". |
