Look Away Lyrics
She's everything to everyone
Wish I could have seen it come down
But I heard incorrectly
It seems everything she knows is now
Five minutes 'till closing
that's not a lot of time when you're nervous
And they say, daughter look away, don't be afraid
When you want to turn back a million times
And it might get colder, but wait 'til it's over
Darlin', you'll find your way
But she said...
I, will not look away this time
Take all these cuts, and make them shine
And all this pain I've held inside
So I can find my way home again
I will not look away this time
Take all these cuts, and make them shine
Don't want to be perfect, just alright...
He's on his way to nowhere
'Cause he heard it was safe there
And safe is something valuable here
He's spent half his life searching
And the other half working
Hard to find out if Jesus is real
And they said, son look away, don't be afraid
When you want to turn back a million times
And it might get colder, but wait 'till it's over
Son, you will find your way
But he said...
Every time, every line,
Every time you wanna say goodbye, sing...
Wish I could have seen it come down
But I heard incorrectly
Five minutes 'till closing
that's not a lot of time when you're nervous
When you want to turn back a million times
And it might get colder, but wait 'til it's over

Every time you wanna say goodbye, sing...

very powerful song, proves that slow songs can be just as good as, if not better than faster ones.
it was based on letters/emails sent to the band by fans
Absolutely amazing and powerful song. Good job TFK
This song is saying how people are having trouble and others say to look away, in other words, don't face your problems. They choose to face the problems and let God fix them! Anyway, this is a great song!

Is that true? I thought it was just another one of TFK's emo songs: Small Town, This Is a Call, Broken Wing, and now Look Away.
If you listened to the lyrics, you would notice that this isn't another "emo" song. It has a positive message, about people looking away from there's and others problems, but deciding to change that and facing their problems through faith.

Trust me, I listened to the lyrics. I know what the lyrics say, and I know what the song's about. Maybe I should rephrase my last comment seeing that people hate the word 'emo' so much... what I meant was that it's another song by TFK about a...DEPRESSED...person who eventually finds some comfort. Let's take a look.
Small Town off of Set It Off is about a DEPRESSED girl who nobody acknowledges, she doesn't know why she's alive, she shuts herself up in her room (sounds emo to me but whatever) so anyway she finds a church an at the end she's ok.
This Is a Call off of Phenomenon in the first verse tells about a coughEMOcough girl who's got all these problems and she fakes being ok. The second verse is about a coughEMOcough guy who is all depressed and everything but hides his feelings. Then yes, the chorus is about asking God for help in depression.
Broke Wing from The Flame In All of us, for the sake of saving space, is along the same story line as the last to. So, along comes Look Away. It's about the same thing.
Sorry if I offended anyone with using the word "emo" but the people in the song kinda fit the description. And yes, I know there is a positive message to it. That was beside my point. I just thought it was another traditional uplifting song about depressed teenagers (not that there's anything necessarily bad about that. But if iwnbts17 was right, then that's pretty cool.
Great Song!
