| Well personally i feel this song is about all forms of drug/alcoholic escapes, some people need drugs or alcohol to escape from the everyday and then they get addicted and the escape or "cure" from life then becomes the disease and was the disease from the beginning. I also hear instead of "all i feel is friction, i don't want it i hate this addiction" i hear instead "And all i feel is affliction, i don't want it i hate this addiction" which seems to make more sense since the song is about all addictions as the first line states "Im convinced i've seen, an escape for everything, they might have different names but their all the same" which to me seems hes not just talking about heroin or coccaine or alcohol or any destructive addiction that all do the same thing. anyway thats my 2 cents. | |

Its not about old age lol. Ask any mudvayne fan and they will tell you that the guys been addicted to Drugs. Hence the name Mudvayne. Also almost all his songs are about the many feeling you get when having Heroin. A.Happy B.Hate for yourself C.Sadness D.Hate for what you are. E.Loving the numb feeling F.Guilty for loving how it makes you feel etc. This is a song about Hate for what you become. Hate for everything youve done, seen, felt, guilt, everything. And just wanting to end it where it all began, with the drug. | its not about a drug trip, atleast i don't think so. i think its about He is gonna take you on a mind trip with his music. The first is "your about to see a mind trip so get your ticket stamped" then he talks about ranting and raving and the aftermath after his music hits you and shakes your skeleton. the second part i do think is about him taking you on a mind trip but it sure sounds alot like acid trip. Weird song and he is probably the only one who could explain it. | |

I love this song, very visual. one of the best love songs in my opinion. but i heard different words on a few verses such as So never look behind, there's spooky people breathing down= So never look behind, or let spooky people bring you down(this is what i heard) I'll wear my suit and tie, would I and I toss into= I'll wear my suit and tie, while i and i toast to ?(something about making a toast to the way she made him smile) Yeah hell is just a parade (parade)=Yeah hell is jealous of the rain(this is what i hear) While befriending fade while luring way of putting us to shame= While befriending Fate's a luring way of putting us to shame Once again i could be wrong but im pretty sure the verses that are posted as the lyrics are wrong. im not saying these are correct im just saying this is what i hear. This song is about the mistake of becoming addicted to drugs. He loved someone who was doing them to and he always helped that person "Always catch your fall" and then he moved on in life and decided he didn't want to do drugs anymore. i love this song. i think its about falling in love with someone before you want to, you want to remain sheltered in a shell "that i have to learn to live and dream before i go and get myself in love". He loves her and she doesn't love him so he tries to medicate and the "There's Zoloft, Welbutrin, there's Paxil that's proven, no side effects." this says he tried to go on Anti Depression pills, but they didn't do anything so he went to self medication "But the rest left unnamed 'cuz they'd work like a charm on me" this is the self medication and they helped him. this song is an amazing and very true description of how self medicating can help flush away any bad thing that makes you sad, thats why they work like a charm on him. Im interested in what others think so lemme know if you got more than that meaning from this song. |

| I feel like this song is about belonging in a different place which is the Moral to Wizard of Oz, Dorothy gets trapped in a place she feels like she doesn't belong and wants to go to that place of perfect serenity to her, the place that she loves that is home to her. this song is about wanting to go to that place of perfect serenity and feeling like you belong there, but at the end of the song he sings about not wanting to go home, i believe this reason is in the song, the person feels like this is where he belongs, this place that was once so strange and alien to him is now is place of serenity, it is now his home. I love breaking benjamin and i think this is my favorite song off of this album, i can relate to the lyrics alot other than the ending(realizing your already home) and hope to one day find my place of happiness and belonging, i hope one day to go Home. | |

first off one of the reasons why the used songs have alot to do with drugs is because bert is addicted, i don't know if he got clean but this song is definately a song about a struggle between drugs and a person, the chorus Sold my life to bring the rain, Maybe to wash me clean. Sold my soul to stop the pain, Hoping you'd set me free. this is hating being dirty, he sold his soul to stop the pain hoping that heroin would set him free, the disease he is talking about is the witdrawl from heroin. i love this song, the final chapter of dear agony, i cried when i heard this song because i felt this way before, i believe it is either the ending of a relationship through death or she breaks up with him, its about how he loves her so much that he allowed himself to be dragged down just to be with her but now that she is gone he realizes what he has become and now she is gone he cannot go on without her, the fight never ends and he has to face the dark of this world alone now. the reason i believe that she died is this verse Come back down, save yourself I can't find my way to you And I can't bear to face the truth this i think is either she saved herself and found a way out either in death or change, but now he has fallen so far down he believes he cannot find his way to her but he cannot face what has happened so he denies it now this is another verse that makes me believe she died Holding the hand that holds me down I forgive you, forget you, the end he is holding the hand that dragged him down and now that he is at the end of their relationship he forgives her, he cannot have her leave with that regret and pain, he forgives her for doing that but he wants to forget the pain of letting go therefore the end. This song is wonderful and my favorite of all the songs, thank god for breaking benjamin, without them i would feel alone with these feelings of mine, but listening to these guys makes me know there are others out there with the same feelings, even though i have never met these guys i feel very close to them through their lyrics. |

wow, i can't believe nobody has commented yet, well this is one of my favorite songs because i have tried to do this, this song is about two people, him and another person, whether that person is a man or woman i don't know but i do know that at the beginning he was trying to help this person, help fix him/her, but he is done pretending that there is something left to save, lyrical correction I am done pretending You have failed to find what's left I will suck you dry again Some are not worth saving You are such a pretty mess I will choke the life within this is he is done with him/her and is going to just not care because he/she has done something to piss him off so he wants revenge, he is the monster in his/her head and the venom in their skin, when he is done and leaving this person he will remember how they "screamed" which is how they feel after he got revenge I am suffocating You have failed to pull me in I will drag you down again Life is unrelenting Feeding lies into my head i will feed the lies you live he can't afford to care because all they did was bring drama into his life and lie to him and feed him lies and they are miserable so instead of taking his help seriously they try to pull him down again, this verse pretty much explains why he wants revenge, i have felt this time and time again, but i learned that some people are not worth saving. |

like any good breaking benjamin song, i believe this song is about a woman he loves and she just plays with his mind so he will start a fight and explain but she doesn't cry, she doesn't get it, she turns the "tide" on him meaning she flips it right back on him, he feels like there is more to her than there appears he is trying to find "what lies beneath her sick twisted smile" while he is caught in her eyes. He can't leave because he is still hoping this is just the surface of who she really is. Love this song, in fact breaking benjamin is on the top of my list of favorite bands |

| Everytime I listen to this song I cry, it is so awesome. Corey has an amazing voice and I think that this new slipknot album is a little softer but the meanings of the lyrics are deeper than any other album except their first album, song "scissors" and vol. 3 "vermillion pt 1 and 2". I really like this album cause I can relate to almost every song. This song I think is about having alot of money and still being miserable and also having to be in hell "I rue the moments spent between the fetish and the flame". "A chance to give up Avarice marks my one regret" this says that he had a chance to give up greed. Maybe its about having money but being lonely "I missed my window years ago, i'm doing all i can", maybe he missed the chance(window of opportunity) to give up being lonely. "I won't become your hero just to fight the life i saved" this says that maybe him and a girl (maybe?) fought? "I won't give up tomorow just to lose it all today" he doesn't want to give up after everything is gone. "I cut my need into my heart/soul" he is gonna bury what he needs to go on with his life. | First time listening to this song I cried, it is a really good song, mixed with the Slipknot style heavy metal with Corey's voice which, I think, is amazing. I read up top that Gehenna is a place of punishment also known as hell. If you have ever been in love or just thought you were and had that taken away from you then you should know the meaning of this song very well 'cause after something like that happens, you feel terrible like in a place of punishment, or hell. atleast that is what I get from this song.
