Thrice – Anthology Lyrics 14 years ago
It seems that everyone has nailed the songs that he references. With the vinyl it says that these are songs he wrote about his relationship with his wife and that he "pulls bits and pieces of imagery from six previous Thrice songs: Atlantic, The Whaler, In Years To Come, Silhouette, Trust and The Weight." Looks like there were even more judging by what everyone else pulled out of it. Either way, awesome song with really cool references to older songs.

Yellowcard – For You, and Your Denial Lyrics 14 years ago
Don't get me wrong, I love the new songs, especially this one, but have you heard anything off of Lights and Sounds? That album is still to this day their most solid release and lyrically superior to any songs off of any other record they have released preceding or since.

My Chemical Romance – Summertime Lyrics 15 years ago
Yea I definitely agree. If this song is given proper single treatment, I think it could really be huge. These lyrics are definitely not correct but it's too hard to hear everything he says to make all the corrections but we can definitely wait until the lyric comes out.

Circa Survive – The Longest Mile Lyrics 15 years ago
tylerzx2002, ever hear of a metaphor? I mean, yes I guess that is the literal translation but that is in no way what the song is about. I just don't understand how someone could willingly listen to a band like Circa Survive and take the lyrics at face value. Embarrassing.

Saosin – Fireflies (Light Messengers) Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is the perfect example of a band just going through the motions. It starts out beautifully but falls apart when it should be building into the massive end piece it wants to be. This is one of the worst tracks on a very underwhelming effort.

Thrice – At The Last Lyrics 16 years ago
I think Beggars is a good album. For me it gets increasingly better with every listen but I'm not too sure about this song yet. I think the meaning is simple in that the things we seek most aren't worth much in the afterlife. As an atheist I think it is tough to relate to this song. Thrice is obviously a religious band or at least expresses aspects of faith in their music but I think this song may be a bit of overkill. Musically it's an okay song, sounds very similar to some of their work on their fire disc but I'm not sure if I'm sold on this song quite yet.

Thrice – In Exile Lyrics 16 years ago
aushoj3, if it is only about the music and it doesn't matter what it is about, then why have lyrics at all? I find that a really odd opinion from someone who claims that Thrice is their favorite band.

I think you guys are spot on with the afterlife interpretation. Good work. One thing I really like about the song is that it has a very lonely and absent feel to it. The lyrics and the music really go well together here.

Thrice – Circles Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is pretty well wrapped up in the last line of the second verse. We're drones that go through life wanting the world to change but never doing anything to change it.

Thrice – The Weight Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this is unquestionably a love song. It's an interesting one to say the least but definitely in a good way. One of the best off the new album.

I also wanted to comment that I don't think this album is a fusion of any of their previous material. I think this is true progression. For better or for worse, this is progression.

The Dear Hunter – Father Lyrics 16 years ago
These lyrics are incorrect. These are the lyrics to Life And Death. The leaked version was wrong. Anyhow, in the correct version of this song, I love how in the very beginning you hear the theme from vital vessel vindicate overtop the "bah bah bah bah bah" part of Red Hands. Awesome song.

The Dear Hunter – Son Lyrics 16 years ago
The song ends before the line "And what of the father".

submissions
The Dear Hunter – Saved Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is awesome. I think it is about the boy being saved from the attack by who we will later find out to be his father.

Margot & the Nuclear So and So's – Love Song For A Schuba's Bartender Lyrics 17 years ago
Here are the correct lyrics.

hang that reath. so I can have a happy new year.

you're so pretty, people envy you.

Can you tie a tie?

You're the reason children turn to dope.
pour my drink so we can have ourselves a good time.

you're the reason people lose their minds
and they're all around you but you don't know what you've done.

This is one of my favorite songs of this album. It has a great patient build.

Margot & the Nuclear So and So's – Mariel's Brazen Overture Lyrics 17 years ago
Here are the correct lyrics off Margot's website...

now that we have expired, I should be honest.
Mary, I was unfaithful to you, and it kills me.
And I have a son that I've never met.

Martin, you can be honest with me if you want to, but I don't want all your devils to hold me and haunt me.
'Cause I have a love for you that's absurd.

For 80 miles, oh how we drove.
(I drove) you drove, we drove together!
For 80 miles, puffin; our smokes.
(I smoked), you smoked. We smoked together!

But you loved me. (Yes, I loved you)

For 7 days, oh how we drank. (I drank) you drank.
We drank together! At roadside pubs.
In the rain. (I drank). You drank. Let's drink together.

But you need me. (Yes, I need you)

Mariel! Someone is bleeding the wall.
The house is beginning to crumble!
The baby's on fire. Oh dear!
The zebra's are scaling the roof.
The mice are beginning to scatter. Oh Mary!

You tied my shoes for me.
You tied them tight.
But the roof blew off, and you fell out of love.

I wasted time on you.
I wasted socks.
But the sun went down, and I fell out of love.

Mariel, would you love me if I was a liar?

duff3d, not trying to start an argument. Your clearly a well spoken and educated individual but it's hard to see any validity in your comment when it reeks of hypocrisy.

Margot & the Nuclear So and So's – Hello Vagina Lyrics 17 years ago
One of my favorite songs off the new album. I love how eerie and empty the song sounds, yet still is full of emotion.

Rise Against – Hero of War Lyrics 17 years ago
Bradley, I want to say first that I appreciate your open mind to this situation, I'm sure it's difficult. Having said that, I don't the purpose of the song is to stereotype soldiers but simply to explain that war in general sucks. I'm no veteran but I think this song perfectly explains just how shitty war can actually be and how being considered a "Hero Of War" may not be all it's cracked up to be. I think this is something you realize yourself, especially when you explained that these situations are "scars the army must live with". Again, thanks for your open mind.

Rise Against – Audience Of One Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree with LazyEmc. Pansy, your entitled to your opinion but know that your perception is a little off base. This isn't horrible. While this is not their best work, Rise Against has consistently released intelligent rock albums. At least there is purpose behind what they do. Sure it's melodic and sure maybe they aren't "punk" anymore, whatever "punk" means anyways. But they're still a damn good band.

Margot & the Nuclear So and So's – There's Talk of Mine Shafts Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song! My favorite off the new album. I think this song is about trying to continue living through some kind of disaster with someone you love. A continuation of Mariel's Brazen Overture. As with that song it again uses the Redwall characters, Mariel and Martin.

Margot & the Nuclear So and So's – Mariel's Brazen Overture Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song! Second favorite to Mineshafts. Good job on the lyrics, it's definitely hard to hear sometimes. The only true part I can fix is the line that says, "The mice are beginning to 'scatter'". In the first Mariel verse I think she says devils instead of downfalls but it's too hard to tell. The only other spot that I don't think is right is in the last verse. You have, I wasted size. But I don't think that makes sense and I'm certain they say something else. Other than that real nice work on sometimes difficult to hear lyrics.

As for the meaning, it sounds like a confession to his wife. What's I like the most about this song is they do this through using Redwall characters, Mariel and Martin. In my mind I can picture little rat like characters singing this songs. It's a rather funny image.

Rise Against – Hero of War Lyrics 17 years ago
I really didn't like this song at first but then I actually listened to the lyrics and now I love it. It's basically a big fuck you to war and how it's not nearly as glorified as people seem to think.

Rise Against – From Heads Unworthy Lyrics 17 years ago
I would think that many long time Rise Against fans may not like this song due to the fact that it is on the slower side, but it has pretty epic feel to it. The lyrics are damn good as usual.

submissions
Rise Against – Kotov Syndrome Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is pretty good. It's definitely better than a lot of tracks on this fairly mediocre album. It's a song that a band named "Rise Against" should be singing.

Wax On Radio – Dawn Architects Lyrics 17 years ago
I think song is amazingly epic. I actually agree with both givemeaplace and Spaulding. This song seems to be told by the "Dawn Architect", and is simply about burying the dead. However, after they are done they feel relief after completing this job.

submissions
Jack's Mannequin – Swim Lyrics 17 years ago
I think the meaning is pretty simple. Swim is simply just a metaphor for living. You gotta keep moving on, past all the bad shit and look for something to keep you pressing on. All those who said that this song is just meant to be uplifting hit the nail on the head.

Yellowcard – Rough Landing, Holly Lyrics 17 years ago
A lot of songs on this album deal with the new lifestyle they have been granted due to the success of Ocean Avenue. I guess it makes sense considering the album is titled Lights And Sounds. This one in particular talks about the life of being famous and well known and just how it's not at all what they thought it would be. This song talks about how he wants out but he can't let go. Awesome song.

submissions
Yellowcard – Holly Wood Died Lyrics 17 years ago
I think the song simply tells the story of someone (not necessarily a girl) searching for a better life but once he/she gets there, it's not what they thought it would be.

Great way to end the album. I really wish Paper Walls was on this level of greatness. These lyrics are deep and have meaning but they were really dumbed down for Paper Walls.

Story of the Year – Save One Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is simply about getting past the loss of a loved one. Definitely my favorite of the all the bonus tracks because I think it's filled with tons of emotion. Great song.

Coldplay – Cemeteries of London Lyrics 17 years ago
HoliHallow, didn't you just give your opinion on the song and the album? How is this different from reviewing? And when did it becoming childish to voice your opinion?

I do agree with you though that it definitely has the feel of someone searching for something to believe in. Even though the lyrics are vague, they still appear to be pretty deep.

Coldplay – Cemeteries of London Lyrics 17 years ago
Tom T, your so funny. You think you have everyone all figured out and that your opinion is the only valid one. I'll let you set in your ignorant ways. You're only hurting yourself by being so close minded. Maybe someday you will grow up, maybe not but in the end it is you who ends up sounding like a fool.

Oh, and I have never been a fan of The Village People but I can say that I can throw up one mean YMCA.

Coldplay – Viva la Vida Lyrics 17 years ago
Lyrically this is without question the best on the album. I think it is simply about reflecting on one's fall from glory. Really cool song.

Coldplay – The Escapist Lyrics 17 years ago
Definitely a good song. I like how the album comes full circle, even though it is a slightly overused concept. I do think that ending on "Death And All His Friends" would have made for a stronger ending but that's just my humble opinion. Still a good song.

Coldplay – Cemeteries of London Lyrics 17 years ago
Tom T, sweet spelling. It's no surprise that someone on such a subpar intellectual level would choose to insult such a great song. But it looks like I'm the ass here, after all, I was just called a 3 year old by someone who misspells something that is already correctly spelled out for them. Go throw on your old Village People albums and quit commenting on things that are far over your head.

Coldplay – Cemeteries of London Lyrics 17 years ago
Wow Tom T is an ass. He is one of those mindless fools who would prefer a band to recycle the same melodies and ideas album after album. I think Coldplay created a masterpiece here. This song is really cool, it has a really eerie feel which makes it a cool way to open the album lyrically.

Coldplay – Yes Lyrics 17 years ago
This whole album is absolutely awesome. Every song is unique and moving in its own respect, having said that, I feel like this is the weakest song on the album.

Coldplay – Death and All His Friends Lyrics 17 years ago
This is a great way to end the album. I really think it's the strongest track. My only complaint is that they should have went through the whole chant thing a few more times and made the end a little longer. It may have made it a little more epic and also they should have actually ended with that song, instead of doing that damn split/hidden track thing. Whatever though, I think the song rocks.

Lyrically I think this song is just about appreciating life for what it is. I think it goes hand in hand with the song "Viva La Vida" Both are pretty epic and kind of feel like a reflection on life.

Yellowcard – Keeper Lyrics 17 years ago
I really don't think the lyrics in this song are that great. As with many of the songs on Paper Walls it seems as though the lyrics were just dumbed down. Not that Ryan was ever that great but he at least showed potential in Lights And Sounds. Paper Walls feels like a regression. The lyrics in this song especially just seem so simple and boring and barely poetic. At least put a little thought into the lyrics at least enough so that not any idiot with half a brain can interpret it with one listen. Everything in this song is just too spelled out and not enough room left for interpretation. I guess if you don't want to have to think at all then this would be a good song.

Paper Rival – Home Is Right Out Your Window Lyrics 18 years ago
I really like this song and this band, they have a pretty cool sound. This song lyrically appears to be a little simple, only because of the sort of repetitiveness but it does sound real good.

First off, to -cide, lyrics are a big part of the song, if there was no need for them, they wouldn't be there. To all of you who aren't sure if Thomas is religious or not, listen to Mephisto's Cafe. He doesn't buy the garbage that goes into religion but he does think that we live for a reason. Listen to the lyrics guys, you will get it.

The Dear Hunter – Battesimo Del Fuoco Lyrics 18 years ago
I think everyone has it right. The child is born, mother a prostitute the father a customer. I'm not sure if the song is suggesting that the mother died or not. I do think that the lines "The flame is gone the fire remains" is saying the mother (the flame) is gone and the child (the fire) is left alone.

MYTJOEG is wrong on every level. Are you serious man? The fact that each song blends into the next is fantastic! How the hell can you make such a bold statement as to imply that all the songs sound the same and are boring. I'll tell you what, how about you stick to your repetitious, radio friendly garbage, and leave this music to people who actually understand what good music is.

Yea, this is the only song I can't find anywhere, it is a good song and I can listen to it off of Rhapsody but I can't find anywhere else to download it. I wish they wouldn't have split all of their unreleased songs to a million different places, it makes it hard to collect all of their new songs.
