Goddamn, what a fucking beautiful song. I love the mix of Schaffers voice along with the "Angelic" voices. Anyways, this song sums up the trilogy as well as ends the story/album. At this point on the album, the hero (Spawn) tries to enter Heaven. But the angels sing back to him, telling him he cannot enter because of the path he has chosen, God rejects him. We can empathize with our hero because in the story's closed system, he is the good guy. The Dark Saga ends with a nightmare where our hero is condemned to suffer because he gave up everything for love. A very sad song indeed, imagine yourself in his shoes, you can't enter hell because you don't want to go back nor can you enter even if you did want to go back because you are now an enemy of hell, while at the same time, you can't enter Heaven either (which is what you want to enter) because you are rejected due to the path you chose. This is without a doubt, the saddest song Iced Earth have made and is without a doubt, the most emotionally charged song they've ever done. |

"The Dark Saga" is a concept album about spawn just as samwalton brought up. At this point on the album, our hero has died. Not being a good guy in life, he winds up in Hell. However, sinners are not necessarily incapable of love; our hero had a wife who he loved dearly. So the devil makes a deal with him, if the hero sells his soul to the devil and serves his dark machinations, he can return to Earth and see his wife. Like a fool, he jumps at the offer without considering the cost. |

Hmm, well according to legend, the Leviathan is eventually "pierced" so that it will die. Well seeing as the song right before this song (Creator Failure) was about the Leviathan, the "piercing theory" definitely works, although, i don't think this is about the Leviathan himself being pierced, i think it is about the soul of the maiden that the Leviathan consumed being pierced along with the Leviathan since the maiden is inside the Leviathan's belly. |

Actually, although i can see the drug reference (especially because of how fucked up the lyrics are), i never actually thought it was about drugs, i always thought it was about a Pathological Liar and how not just everything they say is a lie, but it's so blatantly a lie, so if they say "Birds with empty refridgerators heated up the childrens chairsweat" then thats obviously a lie, but then again, all the lyrics are so fucked up though and there is even a reference to a spoon, that maybe it really was written while he was on drugs and/or is about drugs. Ahh well i guess we'll never really know, but the song still kicks ass, so there. \m/ 0 \m/ |

God this song is awesome, i love UA! And yeah, the song is about the Four Horsemen and the Apocalypse, although, there is one interesting thing i'd like to point out. Dave screwed up the order of the horsemen, see, death rides the pale horse, and famine rides the white horse, but in the song, dave has death and famine backwards, with famine riding the pale horse, and death riding the white horse. God this song is so awesome, it may just be an instrumental, but its a goddamn great 3.5 minute long solo, i'd say it's better than the original by Edgar Winter, but then again it depends what sound you lile better, the original has more of a rock sound, this one is a thrash metal sound, so its faster, harder, heavier. Anyways, whats it about, ummm..... Frankenstein i guess, lol, but seriously, according to Edgar Winter, this song is what they would use to warmup either in the studio before recording an album, or backstage before the concert started, so it really doesnt mean anything, obviously, but it still sounds good though! |

Oh my fucking god! how can i be only the SECOND comment on this song, wtf, why hasnt more ppl commented, too busy listening to your p.o.s (c)rap music or something? Anyways this is one of TestAmenT's best songs ever, and the solo is so fucking good, if their was ever a top 10 solos list, the solo in this song would DEFINITELY be on there. Now I agree with Thrash Metal Rulez to some extent, but personally to me i think it is more about how (at least in America) the government lies to us and has total control over us, and we are pretty much black souls, we have no idea whats true or not, whats happening, were lied to, were pretty much blinded by the goverments lies and the media, and if we would just open our eyes, we would see that the "system" is one whole lie, and that the "system" is/will corrupting us. anyways thats my opinion, might be wrong or not, idk, but i do know that ppl need to start commenting on the good music (like TestAmenT) and stop commenting so much on crap like hilary puff and shit-182.
