| Maria Mena – Long Time Coming Lyrics | 15 years ago |
To me "The strong resemblance to my mothers womb, Is the reason why I will not leave this room" could also be about her not moving on with life or overcoming whatever problems she has, because hiding away from them feels safer (The womb being a 'safe place'). "My flesh makes little sense compared to yours, I wish my restlessness would open doors, It's been a long time coming" Is the dithering over her body image. It can feel very unusual looking at your body knowing you're not ugly or overweight, but yet you feel it so strongly. I've never heard another song like this before, so I have to agree it really is unique, and certainly one of my favorites. |

| Maria Mena – Where Were You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I see it as being abandoned by someone, who should of been there to help and protect you. She's telling them about her life whilst they were gone and thinking how much better the outcome could of been if they'd been there. Definitely relateable to parents being divorced, and the child not seeing one of them very often etc. |
| Maria Mena – Better Than Nothing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| To me this is about how day to day living can get really hard when you go through certain things, here it seems like she is talking about her parents divorce and her ED; but it could be interpreted with many things, and how they can effect other parts of your life. Things that should be easy become so difficult. 'Better than nothing' is maybe a very small piece of optimism, telling yourself at least you're still able to feel something. | |

| Maria Mena – Cause and Effect Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Incredible song, can really relate. "I can't laugh too hard I'm on a diet, I'm trying to lose myself" To me this is about how having a disordered relationship with food and diet takes the joy out of you, and you don't really laugh or just play as much. It's also about trying to run away from yourself or problems in your life, you make food into the biggest problem, but it's really just a distraction. The 2nd verse makes a lot of sense to me, so many times I've pushed people away, convinced they won't stick around anyways. I really love how she sings this one, very powerful :) |
| Maria Mena – Your Glasses Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love how Maria Mena writes about these kinds of feelings with such understanding. When I was younger I remember putting on my grandads glasses to see how I'd look through them, he always told me I was beautiful, but I never felt it. All her songs are incredibly relateable, but this one defnitely captures how I feel about myself; which is wondering how anyone could even like me, let alone more. This song has such a powerful message to it - M.M is an amazing song writer and has an amazing voice to sing them with :) xxxx |

| Sixpence None the Richer – I've Been Waiting Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Really surprised there aren't any comments on this. I've heard many people say the tune sounds dreary and the song drags out, but the whole song has always sounded very poignant to me. I can see how it could be interpreted with a Christian meaning, but I've always associated it with self perception and life in general. "So I'm changing who I am 'Cause what I am's not good And I know you love me now But I don't see why you should" To me this describes how I felt since about age 12, of never being content or happy with myself. I've lived thinking I'd be happy when I was just a little bit thinner/prettier/smarter/compassionate. I am nearly 20 now and I feel like I've wasted the best part of my teen years obsessing over things which never mattered. In turn I've ended up with more flaws than I started out with, all from pushing myself to be this perfect persona. I've no idea why some of us feel such a strong drive to be like this I just know that I am working hard to get past it all, and I'm looking forward to coming out on the other side being just me, and happy to be that person. To me this song is just something I can put on and feel less alone in my thoughts. |

| The Pussycat Dolls – Halo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It also sounds a little sarcastic to me, about not being good enough because she isn't 'perfect'. Really awesome song however you interpret it :-) | |
| Britney Spears – I'm So Curious Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Gawsh I love this song. Just a great pop song, real catchy too! :D | |
| Amy Studt – Nobody Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I always thought you "you" was her talking about herself. Or perhaps God, his seeing through all her facades? | |
| Cold – No One Lyrics | 19 years ago |
When all your friends move away, move on and forget you... People you love die. Yes, I can relate to both. "And I feel like I'm being erased No one got left here I'm all alone No one was sent to get me I'm all alone No one got left here" I think it's kind of like... You feel like you don't matter anymore because the poeple you used to know have found better things, they don't care about you now. Fantastic song, love it, listening to it helps to know other people have gone through the same thing. |
| Placebo – Every You Every Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I heard this song a while after Cruel Intentions came out. It's such a perfect match and whilst not a very pleasant song lyrically, it sounds really great and is very addictive/catchy :D | |
| Justin Timberlake – Rock Your Body Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Such funny memories with this song. Justin Timberlakes music is just so funkeh! I wish pop music was still like this! : ) | |
| Justin Timberlake – Senorita Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this one it's a really fun song! | |
| Justin Timberlake – Cry Me A River Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Brilliant song! | |
| Britney Spears – Where Are You Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"But, I can't go on as long as I believe Can't let go when I keep wondering" So relateable, this is one of her good songs. Written and sung well. |
| Mandy Moore – Stupid Cupid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song was originally by Connie Francis or someone I think. Still this one is way better! Very fun and happy song. | |
| Mandy Moore – Someday We'll Know Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Someday we’ll know Why samson loved delilah Someday I’ll go Dancing on the moon Someday you’ll know That I was the one for you" "If I could ask God just one question Why aren’t you here with me tonight?" Favourite bits. One of my favourite songs! xxx |
| Mandy Moore – Only Hope Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| To be fair, she had to sing this in a Walk to Remember. I like Mandy Moore though, she's above all the 'poppers' in my opinion. She does good films and can sing very well! Lovely song, I always kind fo thought about it like waiting in every aspect for the one person you truly love, there aren't many songs with such gorgeous ideas and lyrics and I commend Switchfor for once again, writing a truly beautiful song. Not too sure on which version i prefer, both brilliant. | |
| Britney Spears – Born To Make You Happy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"this song is the epitome of purile, inane sickening love songs, sung by a 16yr old virgin who doesnt kno jack about love. this song is disgustingly sugary and repulsive " What does it matter if she was a virgin? You don't have to had sexual experiences to know what love is. I should know! Sorry if I'm taking what you said wrong but it sounded like you were implying that because the singers a virgin, she doesn't know anything about love. Which to be fair is just a little bit rediculous/insulting! |
| Britney Spears – I Run Away Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"You threw it all away, so blind Pushed me far from you in your life and now I know the tears won't lead to lonliness Maybe when time goes by, I'll understand" Lovely song, can't believe it was cut form the album it would have been the best song on there. I think I found this song on the I'm not a girl, not yet a woman single. |
| Britney Spears – Heart Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's cute... | |
| Kate Bush – Wuthering Heights Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"...in this abyss where I cannot find you. Oh, God! it is unutterable. I cannot live without my life, I cannot live without my soul" Teehee. Glad you liked the 1992 version aswell, it's just amazing! |
| Within Temptation – Say My Name Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Please say my name Remember who i am You will find me in the world of yesterday You drift away again Too far from where I am When you ask me who I am" I love the build up near the end, it's so amazing. Really moving song. I've always thought it's about a man and woman who've known each other since they were little and now after growing up, the guys gone away and left her. She's saying she knows he belongs with her, she knows him too well and their past is too incredible to ignore (Think Cathy and Heathcliff) Actually, saying that, this wrong really reminds me of the relationship Cathy and Heathcliff (Wuthering Heights) do have. Brilliant song : ) |
| Kelly Clarkson – Because of You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Because of you I don't know how to let anyone else in" I can totally relate. |
| Fall Out Boy – Hand of God Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yea this defnitely should have been on From Under the Cork Tree! Or Take This to Your Grave, whichever it was written nearest too! I like all this song really, no favourite part. Patricks voice is fabulous in this :D |
| Fall Out Boy – XO Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love the Tell that mick... reference. "Last time “I hoped you choked And crashed your car” Hey “tear catcher”, that's all that you are" Tell that mick... possibly being the best song they've done... but staying on topic... The loose lips sink ships is defnitely talking about this girl talking to other people about who shes 'getting with' at clubs and whatever, and perhaps kissing other guys. The whole "To the love, I left my conscience pressed Between the pages of the Bible in the drawer “What did it ever do for me” I say It never calls me when I'm down" Is him thinking the Bibles never helped me so why should I go by it's rules? (Because obviously one night stands and pre marrital sex is wrong, and what the song sort of insinuates is going on) Basically the guys being a bit irrational I think. Can't be bothered to type more : ) |
| Switchfoot – Easier Than Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
werdna101 said it just right! To see half naked people advertising all these products and stupid innuendos and such just thrown about everywhere. The media and even everyday people don't stop to think that it's really offensive to some people to have sex used to make yourself look 'cool' or to sell junk. At the end fo the day sex is just sex, it doesn't last, love does. This song does a very good job at tackling the issues! |
| Switchfoot – This Is Your Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is a song I think the whole world should hear, I always think that maybe everyone would stop and think about what they're doing. For the burglars, terroists, liars, government and criminals and people who do so much wrong to just be asked "this is your life, are you who you want to be?" is quite a powerful thing. Just one of my thoughts on the song... I love Switchfoot! xxx |
| Switchfoot – Stars Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"maybe start to wonder, how the chaos in our lives could pass as sane" This is so true, horrific crimes and such just don't affect many of us in the way they should because their so commonly heard about. People can be so ignorant. Personally I love this song, it's got a fun sound to it imo, and I love staring at the stars, it makes me smile and feel really proud to be a part of the world and universe and really thankful for everything that God has given us : ) |
| Texas – Breathless Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Amazing song, suprised there aren't any other comments! I always interpreted it like the woman doesn't approve of the guy she's with really or doesnt like some of the stuff he does. But he doesnt care because he thinks it's the womans fault that he is how he is, but they can't really do without each other despite their indifferences, or they just like being with each other still, not to be too ott? I wonder if that made sense... lol. : ) |
| Nobuo Uematsu – Eyes On Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
A7XWakingTheFallen I agree with you! FFVIII OST is just brilliant. I'm always listening to it! This songs really pretty, sang by Faye Wong. Sometimes it's assumed that it's about Squall and Rinoa but it's Julias song. When she says Laguna helped her to write lyrics (With all the faces he showed her etc) so she can sing! It's about their lost love, when Laguna doesn't return and she's just basically talking about how she feels/felt. That said, you can associate it with Squall and Rinoa it is a love song after all, it's just supposed to be Julia singing. : ) One of the best love songs IMO. xxx |

| Natalie Imbruglia – Why Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I used to have this song, but I lost it ages ago. It's not any of her albums I don't think, and I've tried downloading and I got nothing. It's a good song and I want to hear it again! Anyone know how/where to get it from? | |
| The Corrs – Angel Lyrics | 19 years ago |

"Confidence and conscience Decadent extravangance Never ending providence For loving when I had the chance" Beautifully written. Reminds me of my nan : ) |

| Fall Out Boy – Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part to Save the Scene and Stop Going to Shows) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Shawshank Redemption is a brilliant film (I've not actually read the book), and this is a good quote from it, but IMO Fall Out Boy are quoting too many things. It's just beginning to annoy me now! Anyway, this song is ok, not their best though. | |
| Rachael Lampa – If You Believe Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Thsi song is in a Walk to Remember actually :p When Jamie turns on the radio (Giving Landon a lift home from the 1st drama practice) This is the song that comes on, but then Landon changes the channel! : ) |
| Kelly Rowland – Stole Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I agree, defnitely about a kid who was so badly treated he wanted to be noticed, I don't think it was revenge exactly. It makes sense to say he was arrested because of "baggy pants and his legs in chains", but "was always" a nice guy. Maybe this song is trying to hint at the ignorance that surrounds school issues etc? | |
| Alanis Morissette – So Unsexy Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"Oh these little protections how they fail to serve me One forgotten phone call and I'm deflated" You know the feeling you get when you're waiting for a phone call from a friend, or just anyone you care about, and when you realise their not going to call, it just makes you really... deflated. No better word to describe it. I'm exactly like that, and I do let my insecurities get the better of me a lot of the time so, much like dancingnancy19, if someone really wants to understand me a little better I tell them to listen to this song. I have to agree partly with the original poster too, I dislike being complimented by people, because I've never felt like it's true or deserved, and makes me question myself even more, though I have to say I have improved on taking compliments better, sometimes just so's to be polite! |
| Cher – Believe Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I adore this song! Good beat and the lyrics are really easy to go with, I especially like: "I need time to move on I need love to feel strong 'Cause half the time I make it through And maybe I'm too good for you" xxx |

| Gareth Gates – Unchained Melody Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Sad to say I prefer this version to the original, just sounds more new and I was like totally GG crazy when he released it (What girl wasn't? :P) The Righteous Brothers do deserve credit for writing such beautiful lyrics though. Gareth sings it well though. | |
