I love how Tim has essentially written a very straight forward broken heart song; feels like he isn't writing about a character or anything. Awesome to hear him give that a shot--he does an amazing job. |

I just came across this on Tepid Peppermint Wonderland and it is definitely my favorite song right now; so pretty and fuzzy with those guitars. Feels so heartfelt |

I love how Malkmus consistently ripped these boys off in his Pavement days...rather impressive.
This song killsssssss |

I had listened to this song a handful of time and then, on a whim the other night, I put it on and I couldn't believe how it hadn't sunk in how beautiful it was. It's unbelievable. |

This is my favorite, thus far, of Morrissey's song. I find it really movement and, as was stated above, truely poignant. There's a lot of heart and hurt in it |

I'd heard this song before, but it never stuck a chord with me like it just has. It came on on IndiePopRocks and I suddenly heard the lyrics; very heartbreaking. What an amazing song. |

Wow, this song always made me happy but now that I read the lyrics it's sorta depressing...but still sorta beautiful, too. |

This song and album are so great. It sounds even better on vinyl for some reason, I guess it's just one of those albums. |

This song got me into Jawbreaker because I first heard a cover of it by Bob Nanna's old band Friction and loved it so much I had to find out who this "Jawbreaker" band was. Ooh baby did I ever fall in love. |

I just came across this song on the Braid dvd. It's really so super good. The "never if you're out there come and save us from ourselves" is just gold. |

Best Shins song I've heard so far. The "what kind of life you dream of? you're allergic to love" part is so super rad and cute. I love love love. |

This is one of the first MM tunes I heard way back when, and I fell in love with them immediately. This is interesting because I was watching David Lynch's film "Eraserhead" today and there is this woman that sings a song that consists only of the words "in heaven everything is fine." Over and over and over. I thought "whoa," this is the kinda flick Issac would appear to dig, it's gotta be where he got those lyrics. And then I was reading the above post about the Pixies song "Lady In The Radiator," and the woman in "Eraserhead" who sings "in heaven everything is fine" actually lives in a radiator. So that has to solidify it. |

I guess I was just exprecting Lonesome Crowded West II or something, I dunno. I should say that I do enjoy the new album, it's just not numero uno on my MM album list. I can't help but wonder if MM will be on the cover of Rolling Stone or something now. That'd be so odd. |

You modest-mouse--
I feel for you bro. I've only been listening to Modest Mouse for a few years, but I'm no faker. I told the drummer in my band how I love MM and he replied with "Really? All of the preps at my school love them." This hurt me so. I've been hearing left and right how they are thee popular band now (and it's also become quite obvious). The new cd sorta bums me out...no expansive Truckers Atlas or Night On The Sun. I mean it's okay, but it feels like they totally abandoned their indie rockish roots from the first two or so albums. What's the deal?
At least J Church will always be mine. <3 Haha |

Anybody know who sings the "all those lonely nights" verse? It's totally not Cedric. Great song, though, kind of an odd style for ATDI. Some killer screaming. |

Word, punkassStina, word. More people need to get hip to SAM (I just realized how sweet the band's initials are), so I can complain and say "they used to be MY band." |

I think Cedric is obsessed with the term "cul-de-sac." It appears in every ATDI cd and, yet again, here in The Mars Volta. He's way rad. |

Amazing song, TITR was such a great band, too bad they're not around anymore. It sucks how so few people know about them. "You'll have to try harder than that. You'll have to dig deeper than that. Reminds me of myself." Incredible, that's what TITR was all about. |

This song is sooo wonderful. The acoustic guitar adds so much, and there's lots and lots of emotion in old Lance's pipes. J Church is simply one of my favorite bands and they get no love! What's the deal? "Drama of Alienation" is such a killer album by them. Pick it up now! |

| Modest Mouse – Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset Lyrics

The mouse is easily one of the greatest bands ever. Issac Brock is such a genius, probably one of the greatest songwriters to ever pick up a pen, and the greatest songwriter out there right now. In a way he's kind of Edgar Allen Poe-ish, because it seems like he's always writing about his mind and the world unraveling. Simply brilliant. This is one of their best tunes, especially the killer violin at the end. Amazing lyrics. I want Modest Mouse to play my graduation party! |
