| A Lot Like Birds – Myth of Lasting Sympathy Lyrics | 11 years ago |

Nearly brought tears to my eyes. Powerful song. In a sentence, this song talks about how when we were children we were taught that love was everything in the world but that when we grow up we end up caring for ourselves more than for our loved ones. |

| Broadway – The Prom Queen Has No Friends Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
Great song! The singer is talking to the prom queen. "How do we always get so close To resolution and just give up Suddenly, I realized what you've done And it gets a little harder to say it Don't let your habits take control Because eventually they take their toll" He is telling her to be sure that her habits (most likely not forgiving and being unkind in general) don't take control because eventually they will have a bad effect. Hence the title "Prom Queen Has No Friends." She will lose friends. "But you have to understand You can't just swing where you choose Not everyone is willing to forgive you" If she keeps saying whatever she wants to people and hurting them she has to realize that not everyone is going to forgive her. From here on is my favorite part of the song.. "The habit was the gun The influence the trigger And the bullet was your tongue (But I didn't buckle from the pain)" Her habit (hurting people) was the gun The influence: I'm not sure for sure what this is but it is the cause. Most likely something that happened to her influenced her and in a sense pulled the trigger. The bullet: Her saying hurtful things. Still he doesn't buckle from the pain of getting shot by her words. "You can't live your life in a coma Not expecting to wake up one day In the coffin you built with your bare hands And think you can just walk away (And walk away)" I think this is the most confusing part of the song. I understand the part where she is in a coffin because if she continues to hurt people she will in a sense be dead. I guess she is in a coma because she is hardly living as a result of having no friends because of the way she treats people. "I've been over this a thousand times before And still you are in the wrong If you keep this up, I won't be around for long" He's seen this problem before and he tells her that she's still wrong in her actions and that if it continues he will leave. Awesome song!! |

| Circa Survive – Through The Desert Alone Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This meaning makes the most sense, I just don't understand what the ransom has to do with this. | |
| Nero – My Eyes Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Are they saying follow or swallow at the end of this song?? | |
| Blessthefall – His Last Walk Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Didn't listen to the end of this song before I thumbed down.. | |
| Blessthefall – His Last Walk Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| The point of them promoting Christianity is that once you are a Christian and following God, your mind and way of life starts to change and you don't do those sort of things anymore. | |
| Capital Lights – Coldfront Heatstroke Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Say goodbye! | |
| August Burns Red – Composure Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I don't agree because it seems like the whole song is talking about one person and so Jesus wasn't being pulled down and wasn't giving up on everything like it was talking about in this song. | |
| Ice Nine Kills – The People Under the Stairs Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure instead of "biting off your nails won't heal the scratches on your eyes" its wrists. | |
| Burden of a Day – Remember Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| 7:24* | |
| Burden of a Day – Remember Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Anyone catch that the lyrics "What a wretched man I am, who will rescue me from this body of death?" is Romans 7:25? I thought that was pretty cool as I just read that this song popped in my head. Such a great song. | |
| Jamies Elsewhere – The Love Letter Collection Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| It sounds like this is about a guy and a girl and the girl falls in love with him but he doesn't feel the same.. I could be totally missing it though. | |
| Texas In July – Aurora Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| "You say life is hard, I say compared to what. You should love this life no matter what" Love those lines. | |
| Isles and Glaciers – Viola Lion Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Interesting, he would have to be writing what he thinks it would feel like to die because he obviously didn't die. (stating the obvious) | |
| Emarosa – The Past Should Stay Dead Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| To me at first glance it seemed to me to be about guilt in general and how the past should just stay dead. Probably about the drugs though. | |
| Texas In July – It's Not My First Rodeo Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Parts of it sounds like God is talking about Satan since Satan is conceited like that, but certain parts don't match up so I don't know. Possibly parts of it is God talking and parts aren't? | |
| Confide – Such Great Heights (Postal Service cover) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I like the real version quite a bit better.. But the cover was good, and if the cover was never there I wouldn't have heard the real version! | |
| Blessthefall – Pray Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I think I have a stab at what this really means.. The first line talks about a girl who is going through a lot of pain and the rest of the first stanza is the singer talking about what he is going through; how he has left the happy life and he is in a terrible situation. And he says he still doesn't know how he got there "I'm still asking how I died". I would say the next stanza is an answer to his question of how he got into the situation. He's out in the cold of night so he can find her. Then "My eyes in yours and yours in mine and now I know just how I died". In other words he had sex with this girl and that's how he got into this terrible situation. The last part is more evidence that the song is about this because he says that he's "never made life before" and "never had this before". Both talking about having a baby. Many of you might have already known it was about this but hopefully this helped those who didn't know exactly what the song was about. |

| Jamies Elsewhere – They Said a Storm Was Coming Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I think the start of the song talks about how life is going fine, no distractions or big troubles and then things change and his actions catch up to him and so a "storm" comes. Although you would normally think of a storm as bad, this storm has the potential to clean him and fulfill his dreams. Then the storm (which I think represents God) puts the man in his place showing him how He controls everything. He tells the man to keep going towards the surface, a new world (way of life), and that there is nothing beneficial for them in the old life. But then I'm not sure what the last part is talking about. Possibly how he feels that his past actions are too big to be swept away? That's my best guess. |

| Jamies Elsewhere – A Slave A Son Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think paintballonaim is right.. but I don't see the where the reference for Jesus Christ dying on the cross came from? | |
| Last Winter – The Violent Things Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| What sucks about it? Maybe you don't like this kind of music but they are pretty talented. | |

| Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe 3 | |
| Blessthefall – I'm Bad News, In The Best Way Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| It sounds to me like he's coming back to God and saying that he's never going to turn away again.. | |
| Ivoryline – The Healing Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I love the line "You got to let the roots grow deep, and stop worrying about the leaves". Instead of worrying about your sin and problems you need to let your roots grow deep into Christ and be all about him. Then the leaves will grow. | |
| Emarosa – Heads or Tails? Real or Not Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I could have sworn this was Dance Gavin Dance, but it makes sense because its jonny | |
| We Came As Romans – Cast the First Stone Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Near the beginning of the song he is saying that he has been putting others down first (casting the first stone) in order to protect his reputation. Then by the end he says he wants to "stop living like anyone else's opinion". The last lines are "I shouldn't forget there's a difference, Between living for other's approval and just living for others". Pretty straightforward good meaning. He's saying that casting the first stone is not living for others. Awesome song, probably listened to this album for like a month straight when it came out :D | |
| Sleeping with Sirens – In Case of Emergency, Dial 411 Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Could be about either a suicidal girl and him wanting to help her or about how people can't be saved spiritually, not that detailed of a song so a lot is left up to interpretation. I would guess it's about the suicidal girl or something because of the part where he says one day you will open your eyes and discover that he saved you because if you are being saved by God you will probably know it. Just my take on it | |
| The Receiving End Of Sirens – This Armistice Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I agree with most of the points but there are lots of bands who's meanings could be interpreted as christian without the label of a "christian band", bands like blessthefall and emery are not labelled as christian bands but oftentimes write songs that sometimes seem to be christian, and he did say that it was his opinion. I'm still sure it's not a about christianity though because why would an artist lie in an interview about the meaning of their song? | |
| Dance Gavin Dance – And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Honestly it would sound weird with normal better sounding screams | |
| Greeley Estates – Straitjacket Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Good meaningful song about a person who is tied down by their past and the singer says he did and does the same. They need a medic. Very basic summary of what I think the song is about.. | |
| His Statue Falls – Jasmine W. Knows How To Mosh Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I feel like this is about how a guy loves a girl and she's sorta struggling about whether she loves him our not and he's trying to convince her to love him saying that they were made for each other. At first glance it kind of reminded me of the end of the first book of the Hunger Games where she makes him feel so secure but then can't make up her mind about whether she loves him or not and stabs him in the back. Probably wasn't written about that but just an interesting comparison i think. | |
| Jamie's Elsewhere – The Mapmaker Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I love this song, but I don't really understand what it means.. | |
| His Statue Falls – Does Any Of You Guys Know Why For God's Sake Every Band On Earth Gotta Have Long Song Titles? Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
"Please don't try to find an answer, just look forward and move on" I don't understand that line because without an answer things will be the same as they always were. Maybe when it says "we seek to fall" he is saying he is against that idea of not looking for answers. |
|
| His Statue Falls – Give It Up! Give It Up! Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Nice music! A bit simple but it's super catchy and really good! I can see this band getting really really good! I think he's talking about how life is depressing him and when he asks people for help he doesn't get answers "just silly phrases running through his head". So he sick of wasting time and he wants to commit suicide. And there is somebody who is bothering him, I don't understand much of it though. | |
| Yellowcard – For You, and Your Denial Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I like Ocean Avenue better than this, but this is pretty good to. | |
| Falling Up – Magician Reversed Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I know it's talking about how war spreads quickly but besides that.. cool song though! | |
| Saosin – I Can Tell Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Great song in summary about how he wants a girl to stop asking him something, and I love both Cove and Anthony's version of the song | |
| Saosin – It's Far Better to Learn Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Are you serious?? This gave me a good laugh | |
| Saosin – It's Far Better to Learn Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Irrelevant :) | |
| Saosin – It's Far Better to Learn Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Lol, if it was about being fat he would pretty much be saying its fine because in the chorus he says its not going to change you :P And to sing that as seriously as Saosin does would be a hilarious joke.. | |
| Saosin – It's Far Better to Learn Lyrics | 13 years ago |

| Blessthefall – Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I don't agree. "Guys like you make us look bad" Obviously he's talking about someone else | |
| Blessthefall – Undefeated Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I think this song is about christians and christian bands who either make music or do whatever for themselves and act like they're doing it for God. When they say at the beginning "we won't fall when we're under the gun" i think they're staying that they will actually stand up for God when pressure comes. I don't know what the heroes part means though. Blessthefall in the chorus is saying that they aren't the ones who have gone off God's path but that it's these hypocrites that are. Great song, album and lyrics! |
|
| Blessthefall – Promised Ones Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Sounds like the battle of Armageddon to me :) | |
| Blessthefall – Bottomfeeder Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Cool song, but what does the destruction and deception part mean?? I dont have a clue | |
| There For Tomorrow – Pages Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| My first impression of this song is about how friends are growing older and all leaving to go different places and they're separated. Like domoslink said, I don't think this has to do with a relationship like that. | |
| Jamies Elsewhere – One Foot in the Grave Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I agree somewhat with emeryfan on this. I'm not sure if this band has christians in it so it may not be what they are meaning. From my point of view, however, this is talking about how he's scared of the world "want to have the chance to flee the scene and to find peace" and when he says he has one foot in the present day and one foot in the grave I take it to mean that he has one foot in this life and one foot in the next life in heaven where there is the peace he is seeking. Then he talks about grace that gives us a second chance and I believe he is talking about God's grace. | |
| We Came As Romans – Understanding What We've Grown To Be Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Great song, more of the same great We Came As Romans, I'm glad they haven't changed their sound like a lot of bands seem to when they come out with a new album. | |
| In Fear and Faith – Bought The Ticket, Took The Ride Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Awesome, honest song. It's just sad that the song is concluded with him not dealing with his pain. He just says he's "ok". The song is about how he's realized that he can't be perfect (So you think I could be a man free of sin? I've done enough to prove I'm not capable of that.) And that he has gotten a lot worse in this as the years have gone on (I'm not claiming I'm all that bad but, I'm not surprised that I've created distance from my past.) Then the next seven lines talk about how he has changed from who he was a year ago through all the things he's been doing and how this year could be his last. Then in the next five lines he says that he is alright even though he doesn't know what will take away his pain. He says that even though he has trying to take things slow things still don't turn out right. He knows he is going to have to pay for what he's done. Then he tells us that he is hardly clinging to life. |
