| Mae – All Deliberate Speed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| With either interpretation of the song, whether religious or of the civil rights movement, I believe this line means that he who speaks out (sings) is the one who pays the consequences or is made the example of. | |
| Mae – All Deliberate Speed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Unfortunately, that is not a true statement. Regardless of meaning, the booklet that comes with the CD has the lyrics as "made us in the afternoon". | |
| Bear In Heaven – Casual Goodbye Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
it's a casual goodbye, goodbye off the mountainside seen but not for long, too long as our lights look down the road casual we ride, we ride to the mid day light casual we drive, we drive off the mountainside and the ground, it's closing down out run it it's a casual goodbye off the mountainside seen but not for too long, too long as our lights look down the road casual we ride through the big blue sky and the ground, it's closing down out run it out run it out in our place filled with lost existence you'll fall forward because... oh no, my friends i think we've turned into a big mistake but those are the breaks for having fun turning away from the high road we should find a flock of birds big enough to pull us up from the low road come on come with us we are falling straight down, so turn us up loud and clear before we crash in the ground turning away from the high road we should find a flock of birds big enough to pull us up from the low road come on come with us we are falling straight down, so turn us up loud and clear before we crash in the ground The line I'm least sure of is "to the mid day light".... it really sounds like "to the mid delight", but since most of the other lyrics "make sense", this line wouldn't. |

| Mumford & Sons – After the Storm Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Great song... and was just on the season premiere of Stargate Universe. | |
| Dredg – Quotes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song may be a little tongue-in-cheek... perhaps about prescription drugs being pushed onto people. The message of the song seems fairly, almost too "direct", as if it is some sort of marketing pitch. | |
| 311 – Large In The Margin Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I'm not sure if these are the 'official lyrics' (don't have the record with me), but I believe that it is: "will fuck you up" as opposed to "we'll fuck you up" As in "trying to hard to reach a higher plane will fuck you up when you least expect it" |

| The Classic Crime – Warrior Poet Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| "warrior poet" is about having complete responsibility for your own existence, achieving the balance between and being able to maximize the mind, body, and spirit. | |
| Basia Bulat – The Pilgriming Vine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Might "the maple" have something to do with Canada? This song could be about leaving Canada (the pilgriming vine) and moving some place warmer, maybe in the United States. Perhaps there is some pressure for her to leave Canada to be successful musically and she's dealing with that and maybe leaving someone she loves. Just a thought. |

| Annuals – The Tape Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| piece/peace, what do you all think? | |
| Athlete – Rubik's Cube Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Often we look to our own lives to give meaning to songs that move us. For me, this song is really about having an uncertain, puzzling future and that everything will be okay if you stick to it and stay determined to solve it. And with that, the answer can be anything you want it to be. | |
| Nuno Bettencourt – Pursuit Of Happiness Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is such a great, underrated record. I think the song is pretty self explanatory as far as meaning is concerned. Anyone disagree? | |
| Sunny Day Real Estate – Iscarabaid Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
After seeing this song live last night (20090921), I'm pretty darn sure the first chorus is: "You're tired of me well, I'm tired of you (not sure of the next two lines) what's wrong with me? well, I'm tired of you" After this record came out, I wondered if the the chorus was sort of a bitter stab at the bandmates since Jeremy recorded the vocals after the band broke up. If that's so, considering they played it last night, maybe they're all light-hearted about it. Could be about something else too. This song is amazing, but the lyrics are hard as hell to decipher! |

| Noisettes – Never Forget You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it may be about a best friend and not a lover. She references "her boyfriend's mother" but the song is directed to a person. Also, the part about borrowing silver boots ... you know, I guess a guy might wear some silver boots, but that would be hard as hell to pull off. ;) | |
| Ghosts – Stay The Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Another vote for "If there's a reason I'll right it, always." | |
| Sunny Day Real Estate – Bucket Of Chicken Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I'm not 100% certain, but I believe they titled it "Bucket Of Chicken" because it was written for the second Crow movie and then not used, so they just named it something stupid. Back around that time, the "mystery song" was simply known as "The Crow" | |
| Annuals – Sore Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I see the song a bit differently, clara. To me, it is a song of regret. He's using a lot of "ifs" and it sounds like he regrets fighting with his love and driving her away. "If I never ... etc, you'd be home with the family keeping warm" I haven't quite deciphered the chorus yet, but at I get at least If I never let you out of my door Never ((would have)?? If I never kicked you out Been so short You'd be home with the family keeping warm. The last verse makes it sound like he still has hope for working it out. |
