I think what he is saying is that he is willing to wait till she's ready, but if there is a reason she isn't ready then he will fix it, every time. He doesn't want to make her do something she isn't willing to do, but he wishes she would "take a chance."

totally agree with procstella. this song is a classic. it mixes so many genres together- jazz, pop, rock, indie, the list goes on... but the main thing is: they do it successfully. This song is fun, poppy and lovely. can't wait for the album.

Maybe it should be "If there's a reason I'll WRITE always"???
Otherwise, I think this song is pretty simple to understand! Guy really likes this girl, wants her to "stay the night" so to speak, and thinks maybe she's just tentative and actually likes him too ("I can't decide if you're giving me a sign, well maybe you are just like this all the time") but asks her to "Take a chance".
