I can see how this could be about family and what not but i immediately though of it as someone's relapse into drugs. It's that time of year - like yet another time she has fallen back with drugs to leave all of her hopelessness aside. she talks about being upset with her family and friends being upset with her abuse, "I'm trying will someone make her shut up about it" And she has a plea to get her out of her druggie state, but just for now, until her next relapse. Anyone agree? |

| I feel like this is almost an argument he is having with himself. Like he is reviewing his past relationship, and he's trying to rationalize and forgive himself for things he did, or things she blamed him for. He starts to remeber why he loved her, saying "you're not a contra" and then he goes back to feeling that she is at fault for his pain. Whatever it means I think this is a beautiful song. | |

I feel like this song is about suicide. The talk of guns and mother crying, and well, death, makes me think of suicide. If not, maybe it has to do with the stress of living. And how your choices affect everyone around you. Well whatever it's about, I quite like it. |

I feel as though this goes along with Phantom Limb, a girl who feels trapped in a small town, with no outlet. This girl wants out so badly but has the feelings of institution, she feels as though now she has a chance to live, but doesn't know how (Dodo). He realizes that she has potential to be other than she is, and craves helping her, but is, at the same time, afraid of corrupting her "Damned to be one of us". He sees her cleanliness and how she can live happily in her small suburban environment, but wants something else for her, and begins to see that she may want something else for herself. He wants to be her wings. |

I think this song is very obvious in its meaning. It's about a man that was in a very serious relationship with this girl that he sees at a bar. One that was very mentally and sexually stimulating for him " see her lying naked in her arms" indicates that he misses that aspect as well. The part that is killing him is that he is not over it while she seems to be getting along fine with out him. There is so much emotion in this song. I get goose bumps every time I hear it. |

For some reason when I hear this song it seems like the girl is leading him on.
