Devil Sold His Soul – The Disappointment Lyrics | 12 years ago |
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUk yes. DSHS is one big extensive vamp. |
Meshuggah – Demiurge Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"I scorch the skies before your very eyes" This song |
TesseracT – April Lyrics | 12 years ago |
He's never satisfied watching her abused. He'll never say a word of this. Beautiful song. Wonderful band. |
Intronaut – Cavernous Den of Shame Lyrics | 12 years ago |
The soft parts are orgasmic. |
Sunn O))) – It Took The Night To Believe Lyrics | 12 years ago |
You know, I agree with you. That was my first interpretation. |
As I Lay Dying – Without Conclusion Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Did I claim that they are a bad band? Did I imply that there is nothing special or unique about them? Did I somehow iterate that they lack skill? Most certainly not. I only stated that, genre-wise, they are the staple (for lack of a better term) in Metal/Generic Metal. And, yes, I may have asserted that their music could use more focus on complexities to avoid stale sounding songs such as ones on Powerless Rise, which is safe to say. Also, AILD was one of the first (if not the first) metal bands I started listening to, so I know all about their music. I since then expanded my horizons to more progressive and aesthetic bands, but that's a different subject. Furthermore, I went to a show with AILD, Winds of Plague, and After the Burial which was awesome, and I actually was on stage WITH Tim Lambesis for a little while. The irony is that if You were open-minded towards my initial comment, you would have understood what I meant. |
Suicide Silence – No Pity For A Coward Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I know it was in 2007, but you spoke too soon. Emmure is shit as of 2009. Most of Felony is trash, and Speaker of the Dead is some of the cheapest garbage I've ever listened too. It's disappointing; I can't imagine how it must be for you since you liked the band so much. |
Mouth of the Architect – Wake Me When It's Over Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"The truth has buried it's fire deep into your kiss, burning clean everything." It's so powerfully worded. With a passionate kiss, all is forgiven and the wrong is erased between the two. The one who holds the kiss rekindles the their love and forgives the narrator. He knows that she had to swallow her pride (ashes). Their love is a phoenix reborn, and he asks that the strength of its fire hold the heart of his lover so that she will not get hurt again. |
Made Out Of Babies – Stranger Lyrics | 13 years ago |
. . . |
Made Out Of Babies – Stranger Lyrics | 13 years ago |
O.K., that's true. We should be taking our frustrations out on people who are against bands like M.O.B. (lol). If we stop bickering and start sharing our points of view, I think you'll find that we, in fact, would have a lot in common. |
Made Out Of Babies – Stranger Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Dude, calm down with the language; cursing is unnecessary. There was obviously some miscommunication. Let's just settle with the fact that we both have the same views on this song and band. Btw, wtf is Old Latin? Actually, nevermind. I don't want to argue anymore. |
Made Out Of Babies – Stranger Lyrics | 13 years ago |
You're the idiot. I was using the Old Latin spelling of "Out," or "Aout," because "moob" would refer to the obese male breast. Fucking moron, learn to Literature. |
Made Out Of Babies – Stranger Lyrics | 13 years ago |
MAOB? You mean "MOOB"? Made. Out. Of. Babies. "MOB" works well too. Idiot. Learn to acronym. However, I do agree with you about the interp. and about Julie Christmas. |
Made Out Of Babies – Stranger Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Wow. Powerful lyrics. It's about a prostitute who has been through it all, one whom you see as a stranger on the corner. "There's nothing they can do to her that hasn't been done before But it's sweet they try" and "This is not at all your best. Try your hardest, do your worst." describe the many men who have sex with and damage her even more. She just stares with a blank expression. The figurative language in this song (and most MAOB songs) is brilliant. My favorite is the paradox, "violent sympathy, white rage." Julie Christmas is a fucking goddess. |
The Ocean – She was the Universe Lyrics | 13 years ago |
It seems as if the story takes place after judgment day. All light is gone. People are so desperate for light that they forget their worldly desires. The ones in Hell (the volcano) are happy to at least have a source of light. The ones left try to create light by burning and destroying everything. They eventually become cannibals. All in all, "She was the Universe" would suggest that, after all is said and done, the only thing that matters is her. She is the light. This is the best song on the album IMHOHMOIO. It kicks so much ass. |
Meshuggah – Humiliative Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is an underrated Shuggah song. It's featured on ALIVE, but was first the tenth track on their Contradictions Collapse/None album. The bottom line is the bottom line, "We're going on crawling toward submissive suicide." |
Carnifex – Dead Archetype Lyrics | 13 years ago |
HAhahahahahahahaha! Such a happy song. If you look into it, you will notice that it is about de-individualizing humans, comparing them to machines only doing what is programed of them to survive ("all I can do is breath...breed...bleed.") It is the "joke played by God." The narrator's negative thoughts and self-mutilation are brought on by the loss of a woman he loved ("This hurts. All I can do is dream of her.") My favorite lines are: "Only dreams of Winter's dead leaves falling from trees, falling on me." He expresses his forced fixation on Death. |
Meshuggah – Perpetual Black Second Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"In My Honest Opinion." It's kind of confusing when you use acronyms for both song titles and for shorthand in the same sequence let alone the same sentence, especially with the use of that unnecessary comma (IMHO). |
Meshuggah – Perpetual Black Second Lyrics | 13 years ago |
What is IMHO? |
Meshuggah – Perpetual Black Second Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The "Perpetual Black Second" is the second hand on a clock -- never ceasing and black for the most part. |
Pig Destroyer – Jennifer Lyrics | 13 years ago |
What book (if any) is this quote from? All I know is that this is the rest of it: "Everyone quickly hushed up and took a step back as Jenifer rose and stood over the girl, examining her handiwork. Her heart layed motionless beneath her, seemingly dead. Her eyesockets dry and empty. Her heels and elbows sprayed and bloodied. Some on-lookers gasped in horror. Some swooned and fainted melodramatically. Most just stared in disbelief. Jennifer reached down between her thighs and pulled the crotch of her bathing suit to the side - exposing her vagina. The other girl slowly sat up and began sliding her fingers into Jennifer. A few minutes later, her wrists were in, then her elbows. Eventually she would completely disappear into her womb. Jennifer tilted her head to the side curiously. She heard the sound of a rickety-wooden roller-coaster in the distance. It's passengers screaming in mob terror. She knew that sooner or later they would realize that the ride wasn't stopping and they were all going to die." |
Cloudkicker – Hold On Lyrics | 13 years ago |
*is cautionary. |
Baroness – Isak Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Yes, yes, but I was referring there new stuff which is lacking. Blue record lacks an epic, heavy quality that can see found in songs such as Teiresias from the A Grey Sigh in a Flower Husk split. |
Russian Circles – Carpe Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Seize what? Omg, I wish this had lyrics to tell me what to seize. Seize the lyrics. I can't make out what Mr. Circles is saying. |
Cloudkicker – Avalanche Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The lyrics are difficult to interpret. |
Cloudkicker – Hold On Lyrics | 13 years ago |
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The title is a cautionary. You have to Hold On to something or you will be blown away. |
Cloudkicker – Genesis Device Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I wish this song was infinity minutes long. |
Norma Jean – Disconnecktie: The Faithful Vampire Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"I never thought that this would capsize, But this isn't a boat, it's a coffin!" This is an allusion to Moby Dick. The ship is destroyed and Ishmael floats out on the coffin. |
Cult of Luna – And With Her Came the Birds Lyrics | 14 years ago |
What amazing lyrics. Let me take a crack at it. "Night falls, silence takes a grip." "night" and "silence" represent death. "Guilt I retrieved, a burning will to die." He is remorseful and depressed over something that he has done to the point of suicide. For example, "before I am bleeding dry" and "leave me here for the crows." Crows, of course are the symbol of death. "Somewhere along the highway these tracks must end." There has to be an end to a seemingly infinite existence. "...on my way to the house on the hill" could mean heading towards heaven, and the "crowd" -- the millions of lives that we pass by everyday, or the souls we ascend with on our way to the afterlife. "Dead man with pitchfork arms tells me all that he knows". A scarecrow (a guardian against death perhaps) could tell him how to escape the pain. OR, since scarecrows do not talk, telling him all that he knows could represent the irrelevance in people's words. "In the Fall she came back, and with her the birds." Now, here is where the lyrics alter. This has nothing to do with the previous lines, but it is the most important line (hence the title). The Fall season represents pre-death, old age, basically the decline of life; therefore, "she" could have arrived just before he killed himself. "She" is probably and ex-girlfriend or something to that effect. As for "the birds", I'm not sure. It is definitely the most mysterious line. The crows, possibly. If so, then she brings death (after Fall), meaning their relationship will bring grief. |
Baroness – Tower Falls Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is akfjfnfsmghoni balls-to-the-wall awskome. |
As I Lay Dying – Without Conclusion Lyrics | 14 years ago |
As I Lay Dying are the epitome of generic Metal, lyrically and musically. |
High on Fire – Fury Whip Lyrics | 14 years ago |
DITC is an amazing album all the way through. However, Snakes for the Divine is subpar. Yea, they have progressed in skill musically, but there is barely any sludge melody, just thrash. Also, Matt Pike's vocals sound terrible compared to the older stuff even though there not much difference. He just sounds like he is trying to hard or is over confident in his voice. |
Melvins – Hooch Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Ok, None of the songs from The Bride Screamed Murder are posted yet, but I have to say that it is Melvin's worst album and an extreme displeasure to listen to. I just hope they don't play of that if I see them live pX |
The Ocean – For the Great Blue Cold Now Reigns Lyrics | 14 years ago |
A year later... What do you think of Crack the Skye? I think it's good, but I prefer the hardcore, jaw-dropping, brain-splitting songs. You know, the stuff that made them what they are. I hope they get back in touch with that in their next release. Also, Heliocentric is out. I've heard two songs from it, and...my thoughts were "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!." What's with all the ballads?? I'd rather it be a Precambrian about astrology. However, the heavy parts are terrific. |
Melvins – Queen Lyrics | 14 years ago |
For the 7th line, it sounds like he says,"me and the Queen could take another OVER." I love the way he says "OVA". lol |
Melvins – Queen Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Melvins – At The Stake Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Joan of Arc burned at the stake. You're welcome. |
Melvins – Roadbull Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song starts out great, but it loses momentum. That bull...what a square. Reminds of the bull implied in Mastodon's "Crusher Destroyer." |
Melvins – Lizzy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Its' definitely "rig it with a clothespin" at the end, especially considering he says,"hang my bones." |
Melvins – The Bit Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Mastodon's cover of this song is Amazing. |
Converge – Worms Will Feed/Rats Will Feast Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"left your throne in foreclosed homes claimed that crown of decay built castle walls with blood and bone to shield your soul from wither and decay" *from blood and bone The bassist sings these lines. |
Converge – Dark Horse Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The song was is a tribute to Mastodon. The vocalist said so at a concert with them. |
Rosetta – Au Pays Natal Lyrics | 14 years ago |
(Elton John's "Rocket Man" plays) |
Intronaut – Nostalgic Echo Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Fantastic song. These guys have definitely made a name for themselves. |
Pelican – Autumn into Summer Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The interpretation given by thesameoldtune is very interesting. As for the figurative interpretation: Autumn always signifies something coming to an end; for example, the last years of a person's life. Summer usually symbolizes the high-point and is characterized by love. The song could be going from morose to enjoyment. It could also be about actually going backwards in time. I'm sure if you asked the guys of Pelican, they would honor all these possible meanings. |
Pelican – Drought Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Somebody needs to post their new album. Ephemeral is omgmazing |
Baroness – Isak Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Actually, I also think that "Rays of Pinion" is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, so there's some epic awesomeness. |
Baroness – Isak Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I believe this is Baroness trying to make a "Mother Puncher" by Mastodon. It doesn't come close, but it's still good. Also, the end of "Bullhead's Lament" sounds the end of Mastodon's "Colony of Birchmen". In short, Mastodon - epic awesomeness = Baroness. |
Baroness – Steel That Sleeps the Eye Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The "steel that sleeps the eye" is the same as the "steel that sleeps with the morningstar" and the "blade" that sings "over stone and field", but what the "steel" is I don't know. It kind of sounds like -- OHHHH Ok I got it. It's about murdering someone, perhaps the "virgin" while drunk, and the "steel" (knife) makes the eye sleep, because it kills the girl. It has a very nice melody and harmony. |
Baroness – Isak Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Well salt is spread on ground to restrict life. "Water to salt" may be his salty tears, and "salt to rain" may be his tears falling on the ground. I have no idea what the last part means though. Also, I love the drumming in this song. |
