I definitely think it's roaming and it makes perfect sense. Roaming through yourself? Thinking through who you actually are and figuring out how you've changed throughout the years and with each new person who's touched your life. Sorry if this is a totally moot point but there's my two cents. |

"You wanted me to be less a lover than a mirror". I took that line as meaning that she wanted him to be more of a mirror of herself rather than himself. As in she wanted him to be like her and do things a certain way rather than love him for his actions. Like she wanted him to be perfect and so she was constanly unhappy because he could never give that to her. |

I know this has probably been said before, but I feel like it's about two people that keep going back to each other, even though they don't work out. Whether it be for love or physical passions that they go back, they do and they get stuck. I feel like when he says "i been working on my backwards walk/there's nowhere else for me to go/except back to you just one last time/say yes before i change my mind" he's saying that they've both been trying to move on, seeing other people and just erasing each other, but they had intertwined themselves together so deeply, that they run back to each other, but he can't take rejection and he'll probably realize it's a bad idea later, but he just wants her to say yes in that moment. This song just speaks to me. I definitely agree with Bayley though, the trousers on the floor, were, to me, a allusion to sex and passion. |

this song seems so happy at first, but then the end is rather sad. so my first actual in depth analysis, i think it seems pretty simple. he falls in love and they both think they're in love, but they'd never actually experienced it before and he think that he can make her happy and keep her happy but its a struggle and so he lets her go because he doesn't want to hold her down. So i guess thats what I think. |
