| Yeah, this is a really good song, I really like the two new singers. I think this song is about realising the true potential of the human mind, as well. I think it's saying that we only act/think in great ways when desperation calls us to do so but if we did so on a regular basis who knows what we could become...? More to support this is the definition of an iconclast which is one who wishes to make change in tradition or overthrows the accepted way.i think this ties in well. | |

wow people r intense about in flames change. its pretty funny but i see the change in style in kind of the opposite way as most people. everyone says their losing themselves and singing teenage emo but i think theyre growing up and instead of focusing on things that cant be changed (the church's stupidity-my opinion- and other things like that) on older albums they now focus on personal issues, theyve matured and arent afraid to be called sellouts they make whatever kind of music they want to. theyre not changing at all in that aspect. as for the sound change i like it all the same just a bit different. i found the sound of come clarity's guitar reminding me of colony's but thats me im no guitar expert. the only thing about any of their new albums that i didnt like is that on a sense of purpose some of the songs guitars were recorded(played?) too quietly. to me a song like the chosen pessimist is a brilliant pice of music even though for the most part its soft. btw i love this song too Sorry for writing half a page haha |

This song is really catchy, i always wanted to hear tomas lindberg and mikael stanne singing together wouldve been better if mikael was screaming/growling too he does have a good clean voice as well i think it's talking about life and how u have to get through it. theres a couple of mistakes in the lyrics i think: i don't know if you'll find out the truth- only one you the chorus Your heart is like a frozen half-lit atmosphere A lonely soul that smoulders from the thirst of suffering Your heart is like a frozen half-lit atmosphere One symbol of a strange concealed lighting guess it could still be half light atmosphere though but really the exact lyrics dont matter. |

i think this song is about breaking away from the norm to become something more. the lines i cast aside my chains and then the lines with scars and other "demonic imagery" are to show how scary this would appear to others they are blinded by fear so they cant see the true beauty and knowing at the gates that could mean the entrance into death as lifes best moment. the pace of this song is incredible |

Steve Harris must've liked them because they opened for maiden on the a matter of life and death tour somewhere in the states. I think that this song's about how the church deceived men into fighting "holy" wars. This is one of my favourite IM songs and to me it seems odd that not many people think this as a classic. The last five verses of this song are sung with such passion it really amazes me. Bruce Steve and the rest of Iron Maiden are still belting out killer tunes 30 years later. Up the Irons!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Here are my reasons 1 the song title 2 the lyrics" life down there is just a strange illusion" refering to an angel looking down on earth and seeing how this world is very different from the afterlife(whatever that might be) of course this could be also refering to life down in prison cells is the illusion. 3 this para.
