Who FIT into romance like hands FIT into gloves? Great song. Love the little scat bit. |

| Nerina Pallot – Sophia Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's also every word every LINE a measure, not rhyme. | |
| Nerina Pallot – Sophia Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The lyrics should be, learn the language FORM the words when I speak, rather than from. This song is absolutely incredible. | |
| Jim Boggia – Several Thousand Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The first Jim Boggia song I ever heard. I love his work. I have every CD, and just got the new one, "Misadventures in Stereo" at the release party. This song to me is just about a strong love; pretty self-explanatory. |

the (?) is "gavel". I've looked everywhere, Mr. Forbes but I can't find the gavel and oh why oh why ... |

| Sondre Lerche – Night and Day Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Pretty self-explanitory. What a refreshing song. |

| Feist – Amourissima Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The suffix "-issima" or "-issimo" in Italian adds a larger feel to a word, i.e. "grande" would be large, where "grandissimo" would be even larger. So my guess would be that "Amourissima" means a whole lotta love. Feist is just brilliant. |

| Billy Joel – Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Has anyone ever heard The King's Singers' version of this song? It is absolutely stunning. Incredible. | |
| Rufus Wainwright – Tiergarten Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Has anyone heard the 14-minute version of this, from the Colette N°9 album? It is absolutely incredible, Rufus' music is ingenious. |
|
| Andrew Bird – A Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Is "to your bereft" gramatically correct? I think it might make more sense if it is "'til you're bereft", but correct me if I'm wrong. Bereft is not a noun, so "to your bereft" doesn't really fit. | |
| Matt Nathanson – To The Beat Of Our Noisy Hearts Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Did anyone notice that the line "at worst the heart is sober" is used in another of Matt Nathanson's songs? | |
| Don McLean – Vincent (Starry Starry Night) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Josh Groban has an incredible version of this song. It always makes me cry, every single time I hear it. What an amazing song, amazing artist, and amazing lyricist. |
|
| Jason Reeves – Never Find Again Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song - it's addicting. | |
| Sufjan Stevens – Casimir Pulaski Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| last thing - when I listen to this song, I try not to overanalyze it. it takes away from the simplicity and beautiful message. | |
| Sufjan Stevens – Casimir Pulaski Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I've also been thinking that the cardinal hitting the window refers to the "BANG" effect that you get when someone dies. even if you knew it was going to happen, even if it was "expected", it still hits you full force. it's the reality of waking up the next day, and realizing that it really did happen. just a thought. | |
| Sufjan Stevens – Casimir Pulaski Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
oh, the glory when you ran outside with your shirt tucked in and your shoes untied and you told me not to follow you those are definitely my favorite lines. I think the "shirt tucked in and shoes untied" is about how the girl (or guy as some people might think) is their own individual person. that's something special that he loved about them. just a personal opinion. |
|
| Céline Dion – At Last (Etta James cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| it isn't "Oh and the angel's spell was cast", it's "oh and then the spell was cast." just thought you should know. :) | |
| Stroke 9 – Little Black Backpack Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| jdbway - I'm not so sure about the drugs part. I'm pretty sure the "up, smack, turnaround he's on his back" is him saying how he got UP, beat him up, then turned around because he won. I'm not sure. maybe that just sounded stupid. ha. but yeah, I don't think it has anything to do with drugs. | |

I think that buffyx has it totally right. but just to add another little piece of info: the meaning of the "wonderbread" I believe has to do with "wonderbread hair". apparently, wonderbread is good in seven ways, and wonderbread hair grows in seven directions. in other words, very curly hair. in any case, the song is beautiful, and there could be multiple meanings. |
