This song makes me cry almost every time. It makes me think about my dad in some ways, who is still alive, but he's had a rough life. It also reminds me of parts of my life when I feel I'll never amount to anything or that I've done so much wrong, nothing good can come from me. But God will never abandon me at at the end of everything, he'll take me home. first: this song is my favorite on The Everglow. and i love the name of it being like hiking up and seeing the start of waterfall. i feel like the meaning is about being asleep and dreaming about the good times in the past, but waking up to the reality of where you are now. and it's sad when you kinda just want to sleep and be able to hold on to those dreams instead of waking up and dealing with what the day holds. the song also talks about when is life going to wake you up. when is going to take your breath away again because you've become so numb to living and going through the motions. basically the excitement from life is gone. this song definitely wakes me up. |

this song is about a girl who has felt rejected or let down by most everyone in her life. maybe her parents or friends. no one sticks around. and she blames herself thinking there's something wrong with her that makes people leave. she never trusts anyone, yet she needs to be wanted. she'll change herself and do anything to feel loved, even if it means leaving her true self behind. she hooks up with a lot of guys and pretends not to care when she actually does. she's lost herself and someone needs to take her home back to who she really is. because what she doesn't know, is she's perfect just the way she is. she did not make the other people leave her. wow i reread that and i feel like it will only make sense to me. sorry. |

| love this song. i have it on repeat right now actually. agree it's about a girl who's at a point in her life where she feels like she needs a relationship to complete her and will do anything even "give herself away" because she is dependent on having a guy by her side. she's not used to having to be independent and the singer is being sarcastic saying you're not gonna be alone your whole life. don't worry. but don't settle and you don't need all of the things you're putting yourself through. just turned 20 and this song defines me haha... | |
