Sunny Day Real Estate – Every Shining Time You Arrive Lyrics 17 years ago
Oh shit also, Jeremy says it's about someone who came back into his life is probably referring to god. He was probably raised christian, but never really cared for it.

Also, the verse:

In the depths of my gloom
I crawl out for you
From the peaks of my joy
I crawl back into

clearly states man's idea of self preservation. I want god to help me when I'm in trouble. As soon as I'm out of trouble though, I'll continue to sin. A classic example is when people pray and say, "Do this one thing for me god and I'll never X again."

Nihillism for sure.

For some reason, this is the 6th time I've read or spoke the word "nihillism" today.

Plastic love. Trying to force something that shouldn't be.

Sunny Day Real Estate – Killed By An Angel Lyrics 17 years ago
This is vaguely about drugs. But overall it's just about the state of the world. "It's never how you feel, it comes in a bottle." Who cares if you're sad, we have a cure for sadness.

You hold your heart out in your hand and it's gone.
Take advantage of anyone you can "Wrap your teeth around the only game in town."

It almost has dual meanings. A great song none the less.

Sunny Day Real Estate – Song About An Angel Lyrics 17 years ago
Totally off-topic but why does angel signify women? There's no such thing as a female angel. Women were made to accompany men according to the bible. Angels aren't even men, they're not made in God's image as we are.

Cinderwild's got it. It's like that, but about drug abuse. About trying to find yourself through drug abuse. The upbeat is simply ironic. As is everything Corgan does ^_^.

This song is about Hell period. As Foo Rules stated, it has a lot to do with Vestibule.

In the divine comedy it states people in hell know the past and the future but not the present. Thus, "Memories of what never was" or rather, of what never has been.

"Living makes me sick." Come on, it's got hell written all over it.

"Live for always." Come onnnn.
Why does everyone associate everything with love?

This is the sole song that ever made me think of a girl =|
It's a really good song. It's mostly just about an obsession though, not sure he actually dated teh girl. Because they were losers and stuff, and all their songs have the basic same concept (don't get me wrong so many aren't, but diary and stuff) this is the only band where you can say "this song is about a girl" besides modern day emo bands

The Smashing Pumpkins – Drown Lyrics 19 years ago
You guys are retarded. Not every song is about love.

His troubles with the media when siamese dream came out, some people loved him some hated him. The indie scene hated the band.

I can still hear you when you drown (drinking)
You travelled very far (travelled far to be famous)

2nd stanza they become famous
i can still hear you when you dream (media, obsession, fame(hence the use of dream, dream as in their dream of fame))

Is it something someone said? (all the hatred against them)

Yesterday the sky was you (you were famouss, now you're hated.)

the last stanza is about carrying on

People, honestly. Not everything is about an ex girlfriend or something love related. Where the hell do you get love from that song?
