Killed By An Angel Lyrics
Welcome to the lonesome world of Abel
Where every brothers knife is set to slay you
And paranoia keeps you healthy
Crooked deals can keep you wealthy
Serum vails to help you when you're sad
Every other face is bent and broken
Wrap your teeth around the only game in town
Made your clothes from insulation
Break your day for pay and ration
Hide, hide, hide...
Killed by an angel
Lost inside amazing colors
It's never how you feel
It comes in a bottle
Let's say you found a gun
How would your bad side burn
It's never how you feel
It comes in a bottle
Relax and all these whores will lick the membrane
Just a touch, a stain, a hole in your brain
It's cold when you remove the nails
Beg for more when all else fails
Serum vails to help you when you're sad
Killed by an angel
Lost inside amazing colors
It's never how you feel
It comes in a bottle
Let's say you found a gun
How would your bad side burn
It's never how you feel
It comes in a bottle
The way the sea reflects the sun, long gone
And all the miracles of love, long gone
You hold your heart out in your hand
One last long sigh gone
One last long sigh gone
When you see the sores you can't believe them
Pathogenic lovers in a basement cell
Dirty white sheets cut up in strips
Cracks in the mirror and you mind slips
Serum vails to help you when you're sad
Killed by an angel
Lost inside amazing colors
It's never how you feel
It comes in a bottle
Let's say you found a gun
How would your bad side burn
It's never how you feel
It comes in a bottle

Wow, this is a really great song... I'm assuming it's about hallucinogens. He's talking about "breaking your day for pay and ration, hide hide hide" as in hiding from the daily pains by using drugs. Other things like "lost inside amazing colors," "it comes in a bottle," and "a hole in your brain" are obvious references to being high. I like the line "It's cold when you remove the nails," referring to withdrawal. Great song, very good.
though the first verse refers to cain and abel, the song is about drug addiction. i think the bible reference is a comparison of the brothers to the dealer and the buyer, set to slay being exposure to the addiction for their own benefit. Super Sapien has an accurate description of the rest of the song.
OK...I'm all for everyone expressing their opinions, esp. on a forum like this...but to think that this whole song revolves around a small allusion to Cain and Abel is ridiculous...lol
This song is definetly about hallucenogens, or drug addiction in general. And here's why:
The whole Abel thing is supposed to emphasize how you cannot even trust your own brother, in the world of drugs.
"Crooked deals can keep you wealthy" - Drug dealing.
"Serum vails to help you when you're sad" - It's spelled "vials" but, yea, that's heroin needles.
"Relax and all these whores will lick the membrane" - Membrane is skin, so this all conjures up imagery of some guy buying hookers...the seedy life of a junkie.
The chorus basically alludes to the angel being your drug of choice...and how it may seem beautiful, this drug may be killing you - but you don't care...being "lost inside amazing colors".
Enigk has confirmed that this song is about addiction to heroin, not hallucinogens.

The first verse is about the Bible story of Canaan and Abel, too. Or, "the first murder," if you will.
I thought "killed by an angel" was referring to the drugs. I agree with Super Sapien that this song is all about hallucinogens.
this song means my life. it all comes in a bottle. its talking about how life is never how you truly feel because your constantly on drugs. constantly intoxicated. serum vails to help ME when IM sad. so amazing.
sorry to say; youre all wrong, Snocore04 is right.
Maybe "killed by an angel" is supposed to mean something or someone you thought you could trust turning on you. Or maybe it's about how too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing, and your "angel" ends up "killing" you. It's very cryptic, though- SDRE wrote some very strange lyrics, very reminiscent of ATDI's, actually.
The song's about PCP, or ANGEL dust. The stuff is a white powder/crystal, but most of the time it is kept suspended in liquid that's sold in tiny vials. The membrane reference is how the drug is absorbed - mucous membranes in the nose, throat, mouth, and lungs are where almost all drugs (that aren't injected) are absorbed into the body. It messes with some of the receptors in your brain (which is why it's an anaesthetic as well as an hallucinogen). The Abel reference is an allusion, stating that when he's on PCP he feels like the ill-fated brother, always paranoid (and rightfully so).
