| naaninn, when somethings gone amiss, it means it's gone wrong. If my schoolwork went amiss, it has changed for the worse. | |

| Motion City Soundtrack – Fell in Love Without You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's supposed to be "Beating solo on your lawn." but I can't figure out how to fix it, so here :/ | |
| Gregory and the Hawk – Oats We Sow Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think the obvious here is that she just can't let go of that someone whom she had loved. "Some day I'll toss all your letters" - She just can't accept that it's over. Though, there is an underlying meaning here because of all the references to different things. I really enjoy this song. |

The "Scrappy Demo" version (In other words, the original Batten The Hatches before it was re-released on Nettwork) is absolutely amazing. I love her voice when its so raw. |

| Jenny Owen Youngs – Porchrail Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Aw, I really like this song. I'm surprised no one commented on it. It's a great song to open the CD with. The lyrics are really good, but the tone of the song is just perfect. |

| Jenny Owen Youngs – Bricks Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"Theres bricks in the yard falling where they flew, I'm sure mom and dad wont give a search for one or two. Abandoned in the high grass, the trowel's left to rust. Building is better but breaking is easy and I don't know which to trust. I think there must be something wrong with me. Like the path that goes unwatched among the very finest edge, my eyes are all wide and my stomach distends." Oh man, she's a genius at the highest levels. Yeah, it's gotta be about a broken family, but the imagery is amazing. I love you Jenny Owen Youngs. |

| Jenny Owen Youngs – P.S. Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Those lyrics are all wrong. These are out of the booklet. I can't make real life as good as television One shoe on and one shoe off and I can't pick a position I set the VCR to record, rewind, and fast-forward. I cut out all the bad parts, I don't want to watch anything that hurts. Anything that- I can't build real love out of paper cuts and plastic, Couldn't decide what to give, so I left you the facts, and that's it. Now you know what's in me, How to go from girl to steel. I set the VCR to record, rewind, and fast-forward. I cut out all the bad parts, I don't want to watch anything that hurts. Anything that... On a side note, this girl is ridiculously awesome live and possibly the nicest artist I've ever met. If you've never seen her live, go to her site and go as soon as you can. |

| Bayside – Thankfully Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I love the song.. anyone else think the title is a little weak though? "Thankfully"? - Where's the imagination? I dig the line "Alone I Stand, United We Fall Apart" |
| Bayside – Choice Hops And Bottled Self-Esteem Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The meaning of this song could probably be summed up in two lines brought straight down from the lyrics: "You threw away your friends as if drinks were all the friends you need" and "The healing power of alcohol only works on scrapes and nicks." Simple enough. Alcohol is a temporary replacement for real life. An all-too-short escape that's not worth the trouble in the first place. |

| Bayside – They're NOT Horses, They're Unicorns Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I see the meaning, but what the hell does the name mean? Unicorns and Horses? Anyone care to enlighten? |
| Bayside – Head on a Plate Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Seriously? No one commented on this yet? Well mark my words, it will become a well known song amongst the lot of you I'm sure. Amazingly written, and though I just heard it for the first time, it seems like it's about popularity of songs, his in particular. "I'm just trying to bring music back to music.." Well done again. |
| Motion City Soundtrack – Together We'll Ring in the New Year Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love how nonchalant he is about the whole New Year situation. "This must be it. Welcome to the new year." It's almost a "Well, here we go again." type attitude. I love it. |
| Bayside – Hello Shitty Lyrics | 19 years ago |
To me, the gift seems almost like it would be more and more chances. He continuously gives her chance after chance to prove herself, and she blows them. I don't take that from the lyrics, per se, but it fits my situation. I figured I'd share. |
| Bayside – Just Enough To Love You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"I hate myself for hating myself Just enough to love you" How can you not relate to this on some level? It's a hate vs. love issue that everyone's been through at some point in time. |
| Bayside – Alcohol And Alter Boys Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Scars are tearing open along my palms and knees. Guess that's what I should get for crawling back at your feet." Oh my God. Amazingly written. Just the depth in those lines is enough to send my head spinning. The fact that he's referring to them as "scars" could mean that it's happened several times before. How he's crawled on his hands and knees for her but she's hurt him every single time. Genius. Absolutely perfect in every sense of the word. |
| Bayside – Phone Call From Poland Lyrics | 19 years ago |
BamBam, Totally agree with you. "I'm bringing it all down right now. The way I should have let you go, and let you ruin one life instead of two." Absolutely amazing. |
| Bayside – Poison In My Veins Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This one definitely hits home for me. Genius writing for sure. It seems to me he acts as though he didn't do the breaking up, which makes sense. "I don't see a chance to fix this head so just give up. write me off, pretend I don't exist." It's almost a slam, it seems. He doesn't see anything wrong with himself, therefore there is no chance of fixing it. Then, yeah, as you guys said: he's started up something with another person.. whether a relationship or just a fling, he's "too hung up on" the other girl "to have anything" with the new one. Amazingly portrayed. Mirror image of a past experience for me. Bravo. |
