i can't understand why there's so little discussion about this song anywhere. melancholy about the ultimate futility of life, and that all we have is to experience it with people around us - and the joy in those moments. beyudiful. |

I think "idle hurt" is "adulthood" but otherwise great lyrics.
Of the 4 new TMS songs this one drew me in the most at first, but really it's a solidly brilliant set of songs. I loved Say, Scientist but the band seem to have come a million miles on with this last lot, IMO anyway. |

The lyrics in this song are so awesome, they really build a feeling of solidarity between this guy and his brother, and the imagery too - I don't know what's happened but I can really picture the guy just stood outside in the cold looking lost.
Also, it's really refreshing using the idea of having one person who makes your problems pale out, that you can rely on and it not being the cliche of it being some girl but a sibling. |

Agree with AmyM on this about being so happy, and about it being about teenagers - in face the line "passion, is our passion in the moonlight, on a joyride" makes me think of a section from the book "Perks of being a Wallflower" |

so easily the best thing razorlight have done. I seem to have this habit of falling for girls i cant have, that are already with someone, and this song is the one that always comes out in those times... mainly for the lines "hours of making love in sadness", and "i'm just bad, i can't help it, but i try to be good" |

Story of my life this song, well, story of the people around these streets too. Also reminds me of the Maple State's - Wood And Rain (I know it should be the other way around, but I only just picked up Viva Hate, despite being a Morrissey/Smiths fan for years)...
"I haven't been blessed with a simple mind,
I can never be sure of anything" |

This is like the song of the day for me - me and 3 16 year old friends were savaged last night because we didnt want to give a bunch of chavs our ball. Let's all do "a Kele" and quit this shit heap country. |

Done by ear, so could well be wrong... I'm almost certain that "such a liar" is wrong, I think I can hear a W in there. It fits the rest of the song though.
Anyway, this songs so amazing - "BROKEN AND DEFEATED" has to be the most singbackable line ever recorded. |

amazing song, and video, a lot different to silent alarm, but closer than the prayer (not that that isn't amazing either). Anyway, in an interview with the Guardian Kele said something about this song exploring his sexuality more.
And since this song is about sexuality, do you think there's a chance "fingers" could be a euphemism? I dunno, it seems pretty base cos Kele always seems to write pretty lyrics, but at the same time, it does seem to fit in.
Oh, and I can hear "Ask" by The Smiths all over the chorus. |

| The Cure – A Letter to Elise Lyrics

This song make me remember a friendship I had, me and this guy were best friends for years, but then when we got to college he kinda found drink and he now spends all his time working in his dads butcher shop just to afford getting drunk all the time, whereas I didnt lose my sense of something else, wanting to do something.
So we started seeing each other less and less and every time I would try and be a good friend and make it work but we were just worlds apart, and I couldnt revert back to they way it was (every yesterday).
Thats an interpretation of mine, although it means I have to see the song as more metaphorical as literal with references to like "the girl I always dreamed about" I see it like it was the one friendship in my life I thought would always stick.
I know thats not what its about but its amazing how one song can have so many meanings to different people. |

Yeah awesome song, the line "another obsidian bloodbath", I didnt know what obsidian meant so I looked it up, seems to be some form of rock. Is this a reference to "trying to get blood from a stone"? |
