Party In A Forest (Where's Laura?) Lyrics
Am I in a scene from 'Midsummer Nights Dream'?
I thought raves like these died in the 90s?
The forest is breathing along with us tonight
Upper Class thugs take middle-class drugs
And we all get lowered in size
This is not my scene, I should not be here tonight
Laura, ooh oh oooh oooh oh
Laura, get me home tonight
Trance music bangs a comical dance of cardboard boxes and fish
We're the fairies from hell and we're all on a death wish
This is not my scene, this is killing me
I don't want to be here tonight
And the girl who can save me is well across the Pennines
Laura, ooh oh oooh oooh oh
Laura, get me home tonight
Laura, ooh oh oooh oooh oh
Laura, get me home tonight

these lyrics are amazing, i've lived this song
This is not my scene, this is killing me I don't want to be here tonight
yeah its just saying hes stuck in a place where he doesn't fit and needs laura to come along and save him. Ive been in this situation... i went to an emo gig in town once...
I like the imagery in this song, it's really mellow and nice. I think that it's about a guy who goes to a rave and feels really out of place because Laura isn't there, then ends up pining for Laura. I've been in simila situations when my friend (who I hook up with)isn't with me in social situations and I feel completely alienated and like nobody gets me the way she does. It's a pleasing song to listen to though and I like it because I can relate to it.
meanings quite obvious awesome song =] i love the lines "upper class thugs take middle class drugs" and "trance music bangs a comical dance of cardboard boxes and fish"
^ my favourite lines too xD
Aswell as the first line :)
Oooh, I agree with your favorite lines! I think you could arguably say this is one of The Wombats' more poetic songs, such as the line about trance music and the forest breathing... It all seems very figurative and quite lovely
:) Great song!
The vocals on this are much like Brochures by The Young Knives. It's awesome, love this track.
This song reminds me of me and my friends getting disgustingly drunk in the forest when we were about sixteen and on a massive self destruction kick. One of my friends would invariably try to drunk call his ex girlfriend and we always tried to stop him. Unfortunatly her name wasn't Laura but oh well.
Trance music bangs a comical dance of cardboard boxes and fish
