Fall, Fall, Fall Lyrics
Midnight’s calling
Are you close behind?
Midnight’s calling
Are you close behind?
Trees without leaves an’ notes that don’t ring
Wine left to rot an’ a voice that can’t sing
An’ hours of making love inside
An a light that won’t shine in the darkness
Could I be any clearer?
Could I speak any plainer?- I need you here
Just to lead my way
An’ fall, fall, fall
She’d scolded me for my sinful and wicked ways
Towered above me – do you follow?
And watched with concealed pleasure
As I’ve ripped out my heart and said
I’m bad, I just can’t help it
But I tr-tr-try to be good
And trees without leaves an’ notes that don’t ring
Wine left to rot an’ a voice that can’t sing
An’ hours of making love inside
An a light that won’t shine in the darkness
Could I be any clearer?
Could I speak any plainer?- I need you here
Just to lead my way
An’ fall, fall, fall
There’s people making lonely
There’s people making lonely sometime
Are you close behind?
Midnight’s calling
Are you close behind?
Wine left to rot an’ a voice that can’t sing
An’ hours of making love inside
An a light that won’t shine in the darkness
Could I speak any plainer?- I need you here
Just to lead my way
An’ fall, fall, fall
Towered above me – do you follow?
And watched with concealed pleasure
As I’ve ripped out my heart and said
I’m bad, I just can’t help it
But I tr-tr-try to be good
Wine left to rot an’ a voice that can’t sing
An’ hours of making love inside
An a light that won’t shine in the darkness
Could I speak any plainer?- I need you here
Just to lead my way
An’ fall, fall, fall
There’s people making lonely sometime

I love the line:
"I need you here - just to lean my way and fall, fall fall." just the idea that it's such a selfless love that he wants nothing from this girl except to be the one she leans on.
I love his use of examples of things that are incomplete, or imperfect, and as such have a real sadness about them. "Trees without leaves and notes that don't ring, Wine left to rot, and a voice that can't sing"
Whoever said it feels like he's right there next to them when they listen to this song, I couldn't agree more. More than any other Razorlight song, this one feels so honest and painful.
I think the lyrics go: "And hours of making love in silence" actually, don't they?
Yes, the way he describes things which are incomplete is outstanding: Trees without leaves Notes that don't ring Wine left to rot A voice that can't sing
LOVELY! You can totally relate to that.
One of the best tracks on the album!
I saw them live at reading 2004 and this song really stood out to me. Its really sweet the way he sings it. Lots of emotion. xxx
genius
i love this song! i have no idea why but the first time i heard it the lyrics and just the sound of it really touched me and i cried!
i love this song.whenever i play the cd on my stereo this song stands out as i feel hes singing right next to me.theres real emotion in his voice and i seems raw and honest
They were amazing at ally pally, this song was one of the highlights. Johnny added a verse from milk by kings of leon. Very heartfelt. You gotta see them live.
"An’ hours of making love inside" should read: "An’ hours of making love and sadness"
See it rhymes with darkness too :)
I find it hard not to at least have a tear in my eye hearing this song. It reminds me of my girlfriend and I'm away from her almost all the time and it just reminds me how, like the music, something so simple can make all the difference. A voice, a guitar. But it affects me like no other song, I can't put a finger on it. I love it.
Trees without leaves an’ notes that don’t ring Wine left to rot an’ a voice that can’t sing, .. Could I speak any plainer?- I need you here
These lines stand out to me.. I love this song, I just learnt to play it on my acoustic guitar, its beautiful : )
