i can't understand why there's so little discussion about this song anywhere. melancholy about the ultimate futility of life, and that all we have is to experience it with people around us - and the joy in those moments. beyudiful.
It's the most soulful & at the same time the most jazzy of the known Sprout songs... and as I usually point out to my daughter "The quality of our life depends on the quality of memories that we create via choices & actions in our everyday life" but also important -as thedanster already pointed out- sharing those memories with other people (in time or place, loved ones or completetly strangers) and building sentimental bonds of a unique spiritual status among us.
I've been listening but glossing over this gem for years. The music is weak by Prefab standards and a mismatch with the lyrics. But those lyrics...they ache. I was one who missed out on so many chances to build memories. Now all gone now.
