This song is NOT about him being YOUNGER than her. Metro station formed in 2006. Cyrus was born in 1989. which made him 18 at the time. Plus it just doesn't make sense that he would be younger. If he was sixteen or younger, and she was seventeen/eighteen... he'd be singing "oooh, I can't wait till I'm eighteen too!" or something along those lines. It's called logic. Oh, by the way, i think Metro station are shit. not to be confused with *the* shit. just shit. Also, the relation to the book Twilight was pretty darn convincing... |

first thing i thought when i heard this song was U2....definately sounds like them to me... The next thing i thought was that it was actually a typo, and it was ment to be Train.....this whole album seems kinda odd to me...not the music...the concept...and artwork..and lyrics.... this song to me is all about the rain/storm being a metaphor for the train... running from the rain - running from the train will it ache every time i hear the storm running behind me - will it ache every time I hear the train running behind me. etc. That last line, I see as whenever Geoff hears a train, it hurts because he remembers what happened... the thing about the kids... "there were some younger kids who followed the tracks that day, it was the passing afternoon that came and took them away" i read that as they got hit by the train. And though I hear all this about his friends dying, I think it's entirely plausable that Geoff has used that as the inspiration..sort of a springboard to write a song about a bunch of kids geting hit by a train, then put a bunch of things in the song that mean something to him... As for my theory on the album as a whole...i think it all pivots around this song. Looking at the artwork, insude the booklet, this is one of the three songs that DOESN'T have a picture next to it...and though that may be a little far fetched, keep in mind that in those piccies there's no train...there's two arrows, a bus, a helecopter, a car, a boat, a plane, and what looks to be a taxi... Furthermore, I can definately see the outline of a train in those lines... I think it's a train in the image on the inside of the back cover...but im not sure... Oh, and if you don't count the instrumental song, Running From The Rain is smack bang in the middle. Alternatively, it is the start of the second half of the album. As for what someone said about there being two friends who died, i thought maybe this was for one of them, and counting 5-4-3-2-1 was for the other... Just theories...not to be takes as the truth, but this is just what i think about this song and this album. |

I saw FFAF last night, and Matt said that it was about going through hard times, and pushing through to become stronger from it. He also dedicated it to anyone going through a tough time, and told us all not to give up. Could be about drinking, could be about love, could be about both, could be about a picture he saw on a box of matches that he later used to light a cigarette... Who knows? |

hehe, funny how great this song is, and yet how such a small amount of people comment on it...Anyway. It occured to me this morning (the morning after a FFAF concert) while watching iRobot...that the robots name is sonny.... I'm not saying that the song is about him...i dunno which came first...but isnt it ironic hoe the drums are electronic for most of the song... eh? btw, "Without my music i wouldnt have anything to stop me killing myself. Thats how strong FFAFs music is." applies to me also. This is one of my fav bands, and they fucking ROCK |

i think it could be about JFK partly, but also it could be just a metaphor for something else...i dunno...The Bullet Theory is definately a reference to JFK...and from what ryan...isarealboy said, the back and to the left part is as well. But parts like the second half of the first verse....sounds more like a suicide metaphor to me...and i sont really know how the last line fits in...meh. good song. FFAF rock. |

this is so great. this song is the perfect way to end the album...instead of going out with a bang, they sorta fade off into the distance. brilliant. Listening to the two albums one after the other, its as if at the end of this song they fall asleep, and then wake up with a start at the next album. Love it. |

When i first heard the electronic drums at the beginning, and the "you are beautiful, no matter what they say" i thought "oh god. its a christina uglyera cover..." but then i realised it wasnt. This is such a great song. I love the bit toward the end where the real drums come in. perfect. no idea wat its about tho. |

| ok. well i dont know what the correct words are, because everything you've all said sounds like it could fit. The "saints protect her now" really fits well, but i think its cool how this means something different to everyone. its fully open to interperetation. its ok, i dont spell things well. anyway, i like how it leads into thankyou for the venom. and its a nice break from the rest of the album. You listen to the whole thing, and its all very edge-of-your-seat stuff, minus Ghost of you, so this is a nice break, to sort of give you a bit of a rest, before going on into more exciting stuff. very cool. | |

ok, guys, i hate to say it, but i think this song is too in depth to analyse. Its a brilliant song, and i love it, but i think its about alot of things. "I'm the cleanest I have ever been. I feel big, I feel tall, I feel dry (dry)" I think that that bit means he's clean of drugs, and he's dry, meaning he's sober. "Satisfied, in your eyes" meaning in someone elses eyes, he's fine, but he's not. "Love is not like anything, especially a fucking knife" obviously refers to cutting. Its complecated, but i think its about drugs, booze, cutting, fame, depression, and relationships. Thats just my opinion. |
