This song reminds me of my best friend... we were both feeling kind of down because we missed a bunch of people and a lot of stuff just wasn't going right. We went out and went to the art store, we were in the basement with the paint and this song came on the radio... and we just started slow-dancing with each other. No one was around. It was really surreal and weird and I love my best friend more than anything... I learned a lot about myself that day. I still hate the song, though. ha. |

When I hear this song I can almost feel the humid night air... As a matter of fact, I prefer Avril Lavigne's cover, because I've always liked the more acoustic stuff. This was one of the first songs I learned on the guitar, too. I think it's "up on a dangling tire"... or that's how I hear it. I get the sense that the two people have been here as kids, and they're remembering. It reminds me of my summer camp and some people there... |

I think this song is about two people who're breaking up, but it's kind of mutual and no one's mad at anyone. They'll both miss each other, and they'll keep being friends, but they kind of know it's never going to be the same. This sort of reminds me of my first boyfriend. We really liked each other, but after about six months I broke up with him. We'd been really good friends for a couple of years, and this had (to me, anyway) sort of been "our song" and so it was really perfect. Anyway, we're both with other people now, and we're still friends... it's okay, even though I miss being close a little sometimes, I'm glad we dated, instead of just being friends and lying to each other, and it's kind of in the past... Well, just listen to the song, that tells it. |
