Juno has existed in relatively the same form since the band began in 1995. Although the Seattle emo-core group initially had "Spinal Tap luck with drummers," as one band member admits, Greg Ferguson signed on permanently in 1997 after a quick succession of hired guns, some of whom include Erik Akre, Joe Plummer, and Steven Cobb. Their poignant lyrics and powerful sound immediately generated interest among prominent indie labels such as Sub Pop, DeSoto, and Jade Tree, all of whom have courted the band since their beginning. This Is The Way It Goes & Goes & Goes was issued on De Soto in 1999, and bassist Travis Saunders departed amicably in April of 2000. In the meantime, Nate Mendel (Foo Fighters), Nick Harmer (Death Cab for Cutie), and Chris Duyree (Automaton Adventure Series) have filled in for live shows and recording sessions. Future Lived In Past Tense was released in spring 2001.
