It's summer on the underground
There's so much sweat a man could drown
There's panic on the overland
Yeah, and London Bridge is falling down

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah oh...

The temperature is ninety-two
It's baking in the vocal booth
And all the tourists come in June
There's so many you can't move
There's people getting rich today
There's people that they've gotta pay
There's loads of places I could go
We should be rockin' in the studio!

Chorus:
Don't feel like working today, I feel like getting away
Don't feel like working today, I feel like getting away

Dalston is a wicked place
At weekends it gets off it's face
And everybody calls you 'mate'
But do they really wanna know?
The drinks machine is running out
And please don't use the ticket touts
The ladies have it all on show
We should be rockin' in the studio!

Chorus

On my feet for a week, yeah, and nobody cares
And I can't get to sleep thinking nobody shares...

Are you talking to me? Get out of my way
We walk on the left and good manners are free,
You don't have to pay
You know you just can't see everything in a day
Yeah I'm talking to you
Yeah yeah yeah I know

this song reminds me totally of 1997 and trapsing round the country to see this wicked, fun new band i'd seen - 'A'! late nights, getting very very drunk and making a tit of myself, and a tour pass with my name on it. cheers! x x x

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
