How come you never go there?
How come I'm so alone there?

How come you never go there?
How come I'm so alone there?

I went up to your window
Lightly banging on the cymbals
A writ into the night
Came storming to your house

My horse had worked the fields too long
My bear had lost its innate calm
It's true enough for not at peace
But peace is never where the sea is

Our love is not the light it was
When I walk inside the dark I'm calm
Where we look for where we went
It's only echoes in the melody

How come you never go there?
How come I'm so alone there?

How come you never go there?
How come I'm so alone there?

We waste time on blame and weak revenge
Waste energy and rejections
We're living proof, we gotta let go
And stop looking through the halo

We carry on as if our time is through
You carry on as if I don't love you
And so we find the ways out
To cover hard I have a doubt, now

The room is full of eyes and empty
Like your letters never sent me
Words like a lasso
You're an instrumental tune

How come you never go there?
How come I'm so alone there?

How come you never go there?
How come I'm so alone there?

How come you never go there?
How come I'm so alone there?

How come you never go there?
How come I'm so alone there?

He is present in reality but doesnt fulfill her needs emotionally. He is not there, his love is not there anymore. She wants his love back. She wants what they once had, but she feels as if it is because of him that things are not working. "How come you never go there" ... i.e. why don't you do anything to fix this. She's calmly crying out "you carry on, as if I dont love you" "like your letters never sent me your words like a lasso you're an instrumental tune"

    From the actual album's poster:

how come you never go there? how come I'm so alone there?

I went up to the window Lighting banging on the cymbals I ripped into the night Came storm into your house

The horse had worked the fields too long My bear had lost its innate calm It's true enough we're not at peace But truth is never what it seems

My heart is not the light it was And when I walk inside the dark I'm gone So while we look for where it went It's only echoes in the valley love

Why waste time on blame and wreak revenge Waste energy on projections We're living proof we gotta let go And stop looking through the halo

We carry on as if the time is through You carry on as if I don't love you And so we find the way is out To cut the heart out of the doubt now

The room's full but hearts are empty Like the letters never sent me Words are like a lasso But you're an instrumental tune

How come you never go there? How come I'm so alone there?

    Song Meaning

She's talking about an unrequited love, the person she is in love with (we will call this person C) doesn't feel the same way. No matter what she does to try and win C over, he just doesn't feel the same way, hence "how come you never go there" you can tell this isn't a lost love because she says, " how come you NEVER go there," not why won't you ever go there — you can see that C never felt that way, and she's talking about the struggle to move past that. Still wanting C, but somehow knowing it won't happen

For the two blanks, I believe they are: when I walk inside the dark "I'm calm" and words like a "lasso"

This song feels like a dream. Maybe its her dream?

I think shes expressing the way she feels so alone,he's empty

"the room's full eyes are empty like your letters never sent me your words are like a lasso you're an instrumental tune" ....Very reflective

not seein' anything up there...here's what i'm hearing:

how come you never go there? how come i'm so alone there?

how come you never go there? how come i'm so alone there? i went up to your window lightning banging on the cymbals i writ into the night, keep stormin' til you rise my horse had worked the fields too long my bear had lost his innate calm it's true enough we're not at peace, but peace is never what it seems our love is not the light it was when i walk inside the dark i'm calm when we looked for where it went it's only echos in the melody

how come you never go there? how come i'm so alone there?

how come you never go there? how come i'm so alone there? we waste time on blame, I wreak revenge waste energy and projections we're living proof we gotta let go and stop looking through but lay-low we carry on as if our time is through you carry on as if i don't love you and so we find the way to lie to cover hard I have a doubt, now the room is full of eyes and empty like your letters never sent me your words like a lasso you're an instrumental tune

how come you never go there? how come i'm so alone there?

Yeah I don't know what's going on, I've tried to correct all the mistakes and edit all the suggestions and all that, it won't let me, and it says: lyrics powered by LyricFind. LyricFind, you don't know what you're talking about.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
