The producers picked a perfect song to describe the relationship between Whalberg and Aniston's characters. Basically, I see it as a song about someone who loves another person through all the good and the bad. And this is a "thank you" song from the individual who was being loved so dearly, although he may not have deserved it, through thick and thin... or as this says, colorful and gray. Great song.
