Ive kind of changed my mind about the meaning of this song, I think its more about how wishing his life was different has caused him to miss what he already has "too much time looking up's turning everything blue, including me, including you". I think the section about the sea also talks about this, kind of like he is lookig out at the sea, wishing he was somewhere else, and this is causing him to miss what is going on around him "Feel the ocean blue engulfing you"
