Something I Can Never Have Lyrics

This song has resonated with so many aspects of my life that aren't what it's actually written about.

For one in particular, the first time I heard it was not long after I had lost a grandparent. It felt like such a cathartic rant against God or the cosmos, words like I couldn't find, to say, "why do you get to do this to me, who gave you the right?" even though I could tell from the lyrics that it's not really about that.

This is one of those pieces of art where I know what it's trying to say, but I don't care. It's helped me to deal with other, completely different kinds of pain and I feel that's just as powerful.
