I think this is about that push pull of toxicity that is relative to any relationship but especially in this case, one where we are speaking of a deity that is being worshipped 'Sleep' (name of the ancient deity the band worships) it can certainly cause strain & tension when things break down and the followers feel a falling out has taken place at any point.
