Unstoppable Lyrics

A lot of people mistakingly think that Sia song is an empowerment anthem, but they are wrong. It is a song about masking hurt and pain, insecurity, and trying to convince yourself to be strong and go on. Smiling to fool people, appearing to be strong and resilient on the outside.

Then she speaks about putting her armor on. "A Porsche with no brakes" she is wild and unbridled yet at the same time, she is insecure. She is trying to convince herself that she is unstoppable, that by masking those insecurities and appearing strong with her "armor on" she will show others how unstoppable she is.

"Break down, only alone I will cry out now, You'll never see what's hiding out" Saying that only when she is alone does she show her pain on the outside. She will not reveal that to others.

"I know, I've heard that to let your feelings show Is the only way to make friendships grow But I'm too afraid now, yeah, yeah" She finds it hard to trust others and reveal her "weaknesses" then circles back to putting her armor on to face the world.

Sia is a genius, the song is misinterpreted by many.

@DeeCee Agreed on your interpretation, tho I think I personally don’t think „I’m so powerful, unstoppable“ etc is necessarily about convincing herself rather than being ambivalent about it altogether, convinced of being powerful yet being aware of the price to be paid by not showing any insecurities/feelings whatsoever. Knowing this also results in loneliness and estrangement, due to doubt and assuming everyone around you acts the same way…

@DeeCee Maybe simply a comment on the industry altogether ????‍♀️

@DeeCee exactly. It's all about to convince others that she is some type of superhuman or superhero, but in reality and at the iside, she's absolutely not. I like the video with a woman braking the glass over and over again. In really, it's some sort of insanity to do a thing like that, just to prove others, how powerfull she is. And those ridicoulous oversized pants ... In short, I think it's a song about a huge ego of a very unconfident person.
