A lot of people mistakingly think that Sia song is an empowerment anthem, but they are wrong. It is a song about masking hurt and pain, insecurity, and trying to convince yourself to be strong and go on. Smiling to fool people, appearing to be strong and resilient on the outside. Then she speaks about putting her armor on. "A Porsche with no brakes" she is wild and unbridled yet at the same time, she is insecure. She is trying to convince herself that she is unstoppable, that by masking those insecurities and appearing strong with her "armor on" she will show others how unstoppable she is. "Break down, only alone I will cry out now, You'll never see what's hiding out" Saying that only when she is alone does she show her pain on the outside. She will not reveal that to others.
