To me, it's someone falling into a bad relationship. It seems to be someone either fighting with their emotions in their head, or hearing the warnings from a friend, or both. "...they don't know what I've found, or see it from this way 'round...all the signs I don't read..." This whole section reads like this person knows that the woman he's falling for is not right for him and will eventually lead to pain. His friends have warned him about her, instead of listening or heeding some red flags about her he's justifying his loving mistakes in his head by saying they aren't seeing his point of view. In the chorus he is going hard against the warnings against making the same old mistakes (I don't care, I'm in love). He continues fighting against the warnings again eagerly embracing something he knows is going to end badly (I know that you think it's fake, maybe fake's what I like. Point is I have the right.) In the end he will be unable to turn away from a bad choice of pursuing this woman who will not be right for him, because feeling like a brand new person by chasing what he's always longed for is just too hard to pass up.
