I can just hear them now
"How could you let us down?"
But they don't know what I found
Or see it from this way 'round
Feeling it overtake
All that I used to hate
One by one every trait
I tried but it's way too late
All the signs I don't read
Two sides of me can't agree
Will I be in too deep?
Going with what I always longed for

(Feel like a brand new person)
But you'll make the same old mistakes
(I don't care, I'm in love)
Stop before it's too late
(I know, feel like a brand new person)
But you'll make the same old mistakes
(I finally know what it's like)
You don't have what it takes
Stop before it's too late
(I know) There's too much at stake
Making the same mistakes
(And I still don't know why it's happening)
Stop while it's not too late
(And I still don't know)

Finally taking flight
I know you don't think it's right
I know that you think it's fake
Maybe fake's what I like
The point is, I have the right
Not thinking in black and white
I'm thinking it's worth the fight
Soon to be out of sight
Knowing it all this time
Going with what I always longed for

(Feel like a brand new person)
But you'll make the same old mistakes
(I don't care, I'm in love)
Stop before it's too late
(I know, feel like a brand new person)
But you'll make the same old mistakes
(I finally know what it's like)
You don't have what it takes
Stop before it's too late

Man, I know that it's hard to digest
But maybe your story ain't so different from the rest
And I know it seems wrong to accept
But you've got your demons, and she's got her regrets
And I know that it's hard to digest
A realization is as good as a guess
And I know it seems wrong to accept
But you've got your demons, and she's got her regrets
But you've got your demons, and she's got her regrets

Feel like a brand new person
So, how will I know that it's right?
In a new direction
So, how will I know I've gone too far?
(Stop thinking that the only option)
Feel like a brand new person
I finally know what it's like
(Stop thinking that the only option)
So how will I know I've gone too far?
(Stop thinking that the only option)
And I know it's hard to describe
(Stop thinking that the only option)
So how will I know that it's right?

My InterpretationTo me, it feels like a guy with so much defects of charecter, in love for a girl that he never had, but this love its very delicate, coz its a love based on a broken man. The music its like a man talking to his friends about this love or maybe talking to himself, in the first stanza they friends are saying that they are disapointed with him, for wasting so much time and energy with a thing that he doesnt deserve or a love that my hurt someone. Although every word his friends had said, he knows they are not seeing by his eyes, he know he is broken, he know that this action of selfish its waht he used to hate, but this love its what he "always longed for".

The second stanza he feels like a new person when in love, and the back vocal are they friends or his mind saying the true to him, that this is not going to last, that he eventually will show himself, but nothing of those words matters, coz the love he is feelling right now its so much bigger than forecasts or thoughts about the future and past mistakes.

On the third stanza, he knows this love is worth fighting for, to overcome his defects, even if he is fooling himself, even when they friends or himself call him fake, he knows if fake = love, than he is a fake person.

In the penultimate stanza, he is sayng for whoever is listining, that he knows that all this hypocryse its hard to understand, but everyone got his mistakes, and this dont deny him from love.

In the last one, he is in peace with himself, he knows this is the right direction, and all those thought lead him to feel like a new person, that will overcome his old mistakes, even when everyone think will do the same ol mistakes.

My InterpretationTo me, it's someone falling into a bad relationship. It seems to be someone either fighting with their emotions in their head, or hearing the warnings from a friend, or both. "...they don't know what I've found, or see it from this way 'round...all the signs I don't read..." This whole section reads like this person knows that the woman he's falling for is not right for him and will eventually lead to pain. His friends have warned him about her, instead of listening or heeding some red flags about her he's justifying his loving mistakes in his head by saying they aren't seeing his point of view. In the chorus he is going hard against the warnings against making the same old mistakes (I don't care, I'm in love). He continues fighting against the warnings again eagerly embracing something he knows is going to end badly (I know that you think it's fake, maybe fake's what I like. Point is I have the right.) In the end he will be unable to turn away from a bad choice of pursuing this woman who will not be right for him, because feeling like a brand new person by chasing what he's always longed for is just too hard to pass up.

General CommentThe first time I heard this song it sounded like a guy who has deep feelings towards this girl yet he feels like he's not enough and it's even wrong to have feelings for her and on top of all his friends are reminding him that shes well out of his league, and he just tell them that she is the one and he doesn't care to crash and fail because finally he has found a girl that brings the best of him and he has decided to give it a fight and go even tho this might mean he surpassing his fears and broken parts of him in this search and he has nothing left to lose.
