To me, ii sounds like Gary has met and fallen in love with a girl who has a checkered past. She came out an abusive relationship in which her ex-boyfriend died a violent death. But the details around that are sketchy: ("I'm not sure, sure if I believe you. You carry a gun for fun...")
Did she kill him in self-defense...or was it murder?
