This song does that: creates this whole weird, self-contained world around Springsteen's childhood haunts (like Morrison did with Belfast.) Plus the way he sings phrases like "miss eeee bimbo's scorn" are brilliant. Its easy to understand why critics were falling all over him in the early days.
