I think this song is about someone who's fallen from grace, someone who once seemed to have it all. They now are living in a dark stage where their is little light and even less hope that they can foresee. They are seeking that light at the end of the tunnel but no longer can they find it. I think of someone like Chester Bennington (of Linkin Park) who committed last July, he seemed to have it all but still found he couldn't escape his own demoms and they eventually took him in the end sadly.
