This song has always meant a lot to me, having an aunt of mine commit suicide when I was younger, I think this song could be referencing suicide or someone losing a battle to a long term illness. Something in that realm I believe is what this song speaks of and it's about how the other people in the persons life have to pick up the pieces and move on.
