I really loved Taylor's 1989 album and I appreciate she's trying out a new style but this song is weird to me. Some parts I like, some parts I don't. It's the same with the meaning, it's about how hard times can turn you into a better person. However, it's also kind of petty. The line "The world goes on, another day another drama. Not for me, all I think about is karma," is really telling for me. It seems this new style is really only about revenge and out-doing people which really isn't the best message to send Taylor.
